We've all seen the threads talking about rare/limited production options or combinations such as sunroofs, the sport seats, engine dress-up packages, dedication plaques, and that highly sought-after option with the metal rod and polished ball jutting up from the center console.

However, this is one thing that I have yet to see on any 360, although it is present in almost every modern car and it's even listed in the parts catalog. The passenger airbag exclusion kit. I've never seen this in person or in a pic, so just wondering how many of these are actually out there.

wait, can't you just remove the airbag and call it a day? Why do we need a kit for removal of something?

That will generate a code and airbag light, unless you swap for the correct module.

It was common practice back in the day for manufacturers to install cutoff switches for the passenger airbag before seat sensors were widely implemented. It wasn't for the removal of the airbag, but rather deactivation over concerns for safety in regard to the passenger and/or unnecessary airbag deployment if no passenger was present.

so why can't we just install a resistor to cheat the system?

That's for F250's under a load. Turn the passenger airbag off and then turn the Power Point on, it diverts the airbag detention to the turbo for extra boost

Tread carefully. Insurance companies will be happy to point to any such modification in the event of an accident. And I promise you it won't end well for you the insured.

My last accident; a 16 year old girl ran a light and totaled my 911 and they tried to "pare down" the claim by suggesting that my speed through the intersection was not within the speed limits of the area-- which was complete bunk.

This right here is probably another reason why the "deactivate" switch was removed from production vehicles.
