1. Loved the aggressiveness in the second start. Can’t beat Max without elbows way out. 2. Happy for Sainz. He was right to not follow team orders during yellow car. 3. Seems like pit times were pretty good (though I may have forgotten one) 4. Not pitting LeClerc for softs doomed him unnecessarily. 5. Waiting so long to give Carlos the first team orders to let Charles through was absurd. Tell Carlos that Charles has clearly better pace (the numbers didn’t lie) and he needed to let Charles through. Why is Ferrari so bad on strategy calls on the fly? They’re so indecisive. Can’t they hire someone better to make quick and decisive strategic calls during the race? It’s one thing I respect of Red Bull. Is there one person responsible for in-race strategic calls? Or is it a “committee” call? I imagine Binotto makes a final call, but who formulates/gives him the recommendation?
Please ferrari fire Binotto the clown.. He is a first class buffoon. Binotto and his strategy have shafted Leclerc this year and today was a perfect opportunity to redress things for the drivers' championship... instead they screwed him royally again and went on to scold him in public in front of the cameras ... Ferrari will not win either championships under Binotto, get rid of the idiot now.
So what? They missed the chance to get Charles back in contention for the championship when max was struggling, you realize that right?
You guys saying we should all just be happy with the win aren’t fans of playing the long game or looking at the big picture, are you?
Enough of this nonsense, the F1 team has been letting down the brand and all the engineers and all the fans and owners of Ferrari. The last championship won was 2007, that's 14 and close to 15 years of excuses. Clean house and go to Britain if you have to get someone good to run the team. this is not minor league nonsense, Binotto is pissing Ferrari's legacy away
The big picture is that Ferrari is a vastly improved team from the previous few years. There is plenty of races left (Big picture, right?). I think we have a ton more reasons to be happy than reasons for being a Debbie Downer pessimist. No one said F1 is easy. But that's fine. You are what you are.
Glad to the Ferrari win today and get P4. Crazy day for Max but Perez came through for sort of powered by Honda. So now Red Bull is at the top for the constructors and 1 and 2 for the drivers. Mr. Zhou and Mr. Albon should have picked up a few lotto tickets today because they were lucky guys.
We are past the point of saying “yay, we’re doing better; let’s just be happy, easily satisfied, pollyannas!” The big picture is that there are two titles on the line this season, plenty of points have already been squandered, and Ferrari could not and can not continue to make bush league mistakes while demoralizing the guy who is arguably the best part of the team next to the machinery itself.
How can you not say these are not a bunch of happy campers? And yes, Chuck is in the photo too. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've actually been there a lot- we have main offices in Central London, Houndstich, Bracknell and Tetbury- Point <humor> was that UK/London is notorious for bland food- (except Indian) and certainly good authentic Mexican is not its Forte Yes you can get anything you want- just probably not what Carlos and Checo are used to- But he'll who knows- maybe they hate Mexican/Spanish food and prefer grey eggs, blood sausage, and crisps
The race was epic. I have been very close to walking away from this season. Just due to how predictable it has been. This race has changed that for me. Ferrari really screwed Charles today..and I would love to hear his radio communications to the pits. Perez! Ha where did he come from? That kid can drive! Gotta hand it to Hamilton..he put in the work today..epic drive. Sainz...bit of a gift for him due to poor team decisions..but happy for him none the less..
Ferrari won the race. The most important thing, right? Chuck will bounce back. Just ask him. At least his optimism is based on actual knowledge of what it takes.
Sainz outqualified Leclerc, let him pass him, and then passed him fair and square. You don't have to be happy CL finished 4th and F didn't "maximize" their points today, but to some extent the CL fans are inadvertently doing the competitors' job by dumping on Sainz and the team, particularly on a day when they could have lost altogether. Thankfully F is too italian to care.
You make No sense - It's about the WDC, they failed to make the right decision for Charles - read below https://the-race.com/formula-1/our-verdict-on-ferraris-bewildering-leclerc-strategy/
Yeh the previous useless one Inaki Rueda is Spanish was promoted! This one is a Brit ..just throwing it out there..wonder if he drives a Mercedes?
Carlos held Charles up and eventually had to let Charles pass after stressing Charles' tires for half a dozen laps while Lewis caught up to both of them. Carlos put the Ferrari win in jeopardy out of selfishness, and without the SC they very well may have lost the race to Lewis. On the other hand, I would not respect Carlos if he did not truly believe in himself. It is a difficult situation that can only be resolved by strong leadership from the team principal, which Ferrari apparently lacks. Fair and square would have been after a double-stacked pit stop. There was a 9 sec gap and pit stops are <4 sec. They could have screwed the pit stop up 8 ways from Sunday and both Ferraris would still have been 1-2 at the restart on fresh softs. Unbeatable. In your mind, did Perez and Lewis also pass Charles fair and square? Ferrari are the greatest team in F1, but they are in no universe the best team. Grrrr!
