The four-time F1 world champion revealed via his newly-launched Instagram account on Thursday ahead of this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix that he would be walking away from the series at the end of the season.

Personally, i think he did well. First, i think there is life after F1. Secondly, i believe that the way the championship has turned out, all the contributors are missing their homes, their families a lot. Perez had made a similar statement, saying that if the matches increase even more, he will probably stop to spend more time with his family. The bad thing about F1 (and this is a personal opinion) is that it has changed a lot, not so much in terms of drivers but cars. The multi-cylinder naturally aspirated engines have been abolished, the sound of the new engines does not offer the 'joy' and satisfaction of the old ones, the cars have become slower than those of the previous generation and i think that to some extent this has also played a role in whether the older pilots will stay or not.

    What is your opinion?

I think he did well, he clearly wasn't the driver he once was, and teh Aston is a POS. He's a great driver, he did amazing races at Ferrari, and i like him a lot, i can only hope he will be happy and his new life. See you Seb, and thank you!

Vettel's form dropped sharply after his 2018 Hockenheim crash at Hockenheim.

That was a watershed in his career. Probably his heart wasn't in it any more in recent years.

I think outside racing he is a pleasant human being, if I judge by the witty after-diner speeches he delivers.

Yeah Vettel had a awsome F1 career. F1 has been good to him. He is much friendlier now than during his champion years.

Wish him All the Best for his future endeavours. He's really a nice, funny person on the track untill Germany '18 hit him.

Donut "party" at the end of the race at Abu Dhabi to commemorate Seb's last time in F1.

Who cares about the FIA regulated $10k fine for doing donuts.

    It's tradition amongst the drivers.

He’s a good guy. One of the drivers I grew to like the most as a person. His driving is not what it used to be, but he’s still plenty fast enough to be in demand. I admire the fact that he chose when to leave on his terms and at a time of his choosing. Few get that choice. He leaves having achieved a huge amount in the sport. A 4 time WDC. A winner for Ferrari many times. An F1 career that most can only dream of. I hope that he finds the same success in his next endeavours and wish him well.

He will take a season or two off- go drive Le Man's etc- then come back to F1 when a decent seat opens up and the other sear is not filled by the minimally-talented snot nosed brat son of the owner.

He's seemed miserable with the Stroll fam and "tuned out" to me for the last 2 years so no surprise. I mean... look at his official photo this year. Looks like he rolled out of bed after a 3 week bender. Does this look like a guy who's focused and ready to push for success in an upcoming season?

Seeing before Ferrari and after Ferrari pictures of Vettel reminds me of before and after pictures of American Presidents.

Not the worst person in the world, nor the worst driver.
A 4 x WDC and multi times winner for SF.
We didn’t get the best of him, nor he of us.
He is too good for Stroll, Pere et Fils.

He's certainly an exception, though! Not just for F1 driver terms but just about any celebrity, sports or otherwise, such an act is fantastic.

I was disappointed when I read about this, not in Seb, but in the British fans. At any large event I’ve attended in the UK the people always have picked up after themselves and left only minimum litter. But I’ve never attended an F1 race there….maybe that has something to do with it.
