Will the LeMans machine have a direct impact on the next halo? A V6 TT directly from the racer car, maybe...
I was told that the Halo will not be based off the LMh. who knows for the future but the next halo should be with us within the next 12 - 18 months I'm guessing. The Halo will have had pretty much everything locked in like 2 or 3 years ago.
I say this in two minds this will be the last V12 Halo car (short of going with a smaller TT V12 in the Future but I can’t see that ever happening). However, the current V12 design is getting near its power limited is there enough power left in for a halo car is a big question. As for a new designed V12 not sure that is an investment that Ferrari will be willing to make with this Eco cr@p in affect. So, in my other mind is this going to be a return to the days of the 288 GTO/F40 V8 TT powered for the halo or even a step further and go V6 TT. F1 is now V6 the LMh is looking almost set to go V6 TT maybe V8 but can’t see it. Still hard to make the final call with so little info so late in the game.
Let's hope it's a NA V12 or NA V10. But why do you say the V12 it's getting near its power limit ?! With the current technology available, Ferrari should be able to design a NA V12 that produces 2000 HP.
@4re4ever 2000HP? NA? impossible, at least not in any sense a reliable car, and still, impossible, would have to be a 15L motor to come anywhere near 2000HP without assistance. It's not impossible one bit. The 2004 F1 cars that had a 3 litre NA V10 were producing in excess of 900 HP, and that was in 2004. So why on Earth with 2022 technology they can't produce 2000 HP from a 6 litre NA V12 when you've got 2 extra cylinders and double the displacement ?!? Then Ferrari as a brand is ****ed, it will go downhill pretty soon. What's so hard about creating all-new ICE engines ?!? Don't they have engineers or something ?!? Also, f.u.c.k. hybrid and f.u.c.k. electric !!! Ferrari are not bound by any emission rules like normal car companies. I can't comprehend how stupid their management must be to go down the electric and hybrid route when they could be creating NA cars for decades to come.
F1 cars? If the engine lasts 1500 miles it is amazing, Ferrari builds road cars with engines that need to go 50,000 miles or more before tearing them down to rebuild. For the F12TDF, Ferrari recommended maintenance schedule for "lash" adjustment of the solid lifters at 50,000 miles. They publicly fired their top engine designer (Leiters) one month after revealing the SP3 and did not replace him...so.... Maybe, but, does not matter, because the Chairman, J.Elkann wants all electric, look at what he is doing to Dodge/Jeep...it is a shame, that is certain

I hope you are not an adult. You have zero understanding of engineering. The best a 6 litre N/A engine road legal engine can do now is about 1000 HP. Leiters was just the Road Engine Department Head. He was not THE designer; they have numerous of those in Maranello.
that is 100% true. some people behave like, ''as if leiters brought v12 engine to ferrari with him. before him v12 even didn't exist at ferrari"!!
What I understand is this: they fired him, and a few weeks later they introduced his replacement, an accountant (Fulgenzi)...who is tasked to make Ferrari's first BEV (good luck with that) and Elkann is all about electric and during Ferrari's Market presentation in June, the V12 is flat-lined and, not as public, the F167 (812 successor) was nearly cancelled...it is very late in its presentation (as evidence it was nearly cancelled) of course others are able to work on a V12, but they are not working on a new one, Ferrari is out on the V12...that's the message they have publicly provided, any V12 (such as the FUV) will simply be a minor re-working of the existing V12

Let me address this: 1. First of all, F1 cars are pushed to the max for 2 hours during a race, a road car will never be pushed to the max for more than 20-30 minutes. 2. Second, the F1 cars don't have anywhere near as big as displacement as I've proposed and need to be revved higher in order to get the same power output. For example the NA V10 I mentioned developed around 900 HP from a 3 litre engine. Since a modern NA V12 engine will have double the displacement and 2 extra cylinders, it won't be anywhere near as stressed out. 3. Third, that was with 2004 technology, I am pretty sure that almost 2 decades later we have way better technology and components/materials at our disposal, that can withstand the stress/pressure. 4. Who says the engine has to last 50.000 miles ?!? 20.000 seems more than enough for me considering most owners rarely drive their cars. Also, if you have the millions required to buy such a car, spending around 50.000 $ once every few years to replace the engine shouldn't be such a big deal, that's pocket change for some of the folks out here. Then we have as easy solution to our problems, we can just kill this bastard.
