430 Mystery red plastic item in glove box?

Is it a cover for the battery positive termnal

 

Might have refitted the old one which is a lot bigger

 

I've replaced my battery a few times and the Positive terminal cover never seems to fit as --I'm supposing --the way it did on the OEM battery. Most likely your battery was replaced and the terminal cover was tossed in the glove box since it really didn't fit correctly anyway.
Just my .02

 

Its the cover plate which is in the becker cascade head unit where the cf card is located

Not sure its purpose, maybe a dust cover but from memory it does not slide into the slot but sits in front of it just behind the detachable face on the lefthand side.
Also do not think it fits if a CF card is used

I can confirm it fits even if a CF card is in place.

That is so cool. Great now I have to find one of those red plastic pieces for my car !!! Damn my OCD !!!!
