SF90 Challenge

What is the point on doing a SF90 Challenge knowing that the 296 has just been released? Isn’t supposed to be a Challenge version of the 296? In parallel of the SF90 Challenge?
That would make no sens.

 

Except as a way to sell even more cars... have 2 Challenge Series.

 

So far only the GT3 version of the 296 has been confirmed.

 

I'm not sure I buy it as an SF90VS either...

 

So, what exactly is this？！

Sure it’s a beast, but all of a sudden I’m happy with the AF.

 

Thats likely the 296 Challenge car.

 

That makes no sense to me to use SF90 as a 296 Challenge mule. Anyone got a video and the sound of the prototype? V8?
And probably the wheelbase is different,

The very first videos of such car but without the wing, like almost a year ago, had the sound of a V8 if I recall correctly. (Twin Turbo, not a NA V8 of course )

 

My bad, looked like a 296 to me.

 

Maybe VS SF90 added hp requires a wing for downforce / grip.
Own Senna and LT Spider to be honest this hp thing with todays specials use tires is a bit nuts.
Prefer AF Spider over SF 90 VS coupe wing - I think

 

how much weight is it shredding? Approx 200lbs?

 

I hope they delete front motors. Now that is something.
Or at least let driver can choose rwd only mode.

No chance, as that would impair traction and also negate the front axle torque vectoring capability.

K was faster !

 

SF90 not AF with street tires wasn't far behind k. - slicks AF it would be close to K
VS wing aero shed weight slicks - it will be faster.
Don't believe Ferrari just switches programs from track to road - it's just not that simple,

Program is far enough along people know - my guess is an offering to Challenge owners but given the heavy modification will be higher production than the Pista Challenge road car.

 

I am confused by this project…
- it’s not the XX replacement (LMPH-based)
- it’s not the 488 Challenge replacement (296 GT3-based)
- if it’s the SF90VS, why the big wing, low aero, and extensive track time in racing attire?
- could this be the equivalent of the Pista Piloti for Challenge drivers? A street legal “race car”?
…or is it simply the SF90VS as @day355 states?

 

I summarize, initially it was to be an SF90 XX, but despite the developments, the car was slower than an FXX-K during test sessions on Mugello.
So, in the end, it s recycled in VS
