I found that I lost a tot of the theater on downshifts, and lower cruising speeds, when I put a Capristo X pipe in my pre-GPF Superfast. The high end pitch was phenomenal, but lost a lot of basic sound. Since the GTS is bassier overall, did you find the X pipe as a good balance? It sounds good in your video, and superior to stock for sure to me.

If you add an x-pipe but leave the standard cats in place, the car becomes quieter overall and the sound is 'thinner' & undesirable. You need to pair it with 100/200 cell cats to get the full impact. I'm not engineer so can't explain why, but know it from experience!

That’s what I found on the SF…but not the Pista. I’m guessing has to do with the amount of airflow through the crossing.

Just noticed that Capristo is making all of the sport cats with 250Cell. wonder if a cel would be triggered as easily now?

Have you decide what to put on your GTS?

No, will want to hear the car first, but eventual plan is Novitec back box and X pipe, and either 100cel, or the Capristo 200 or 250. I’ll call them and ask about it.

I have 100 cell with x-pipe and Novitec on my TDF.

If you want to hear this first just let me know.

For my GTS I will go 200 or 250 cell as the TDF is so full on it’s crazy!

Yeah, I’ll have to check that out!

I mean, I love the sounds of the GTS on the Novitec videos, and prefer the sound of the 100 to decat for sure, but 250 may be the magic number. I definitely want to do an X pipe, but won’t do it again without HFCs as it took too much away from stock.

The 250's are really quiet! Potentially too much so, definitely worth listening to them in the flesh before committing if you can!

Have you heard them? Seem new to me, and not a lot different than 200 which appears to be pretty good? I’d love to hear them in person, but seems tricky to do so!

I have indeed - probably far too many times in truth haha! Marginal difference compared to 200-cell, from my understanding the move from 200-250 was to do with being pretty near the limit of OBDII compliance. That extra 50-cell density helps keep the efficiency above board and avoid lights on stuff like the 992 Porsches. Obviously that's irrelevant with the GTS as you're deleting the GPFs too so the Tectronic is essential. Note the Capristo OBD Wizard doesn't currently defeat GPF CELs, only Cat inefficiency CELs so you need to go for the Novitec Tectronic. The Capristo remote kit will work with GTS 100% however.

That's great info, thanks. I figured with the GPF delete, it will need the Tectonic. I wonder if they can still do a 200 for me, since they're made to order. Worth a call I guess. Have you heard 200 or 250 on say a Pista? Wonder if the 250 will help with a CEL on that car? It's a turbo car, so, tempted to say 100cell on that.

I'm sure they can do 200 to order if needed!

Pista is a really tricky one, they're super back pressure sensitive. Usually you'd default to decatting a 488 (without issue in almost every case) but I've seen more than a few decat Pistas with backpressure related CELs. Those cars then had cats fitted (a range of 100/200/250 cell) and the lights seem to have gone away. Because the car is relatively small displacement and so heavily turbocharged it really needs as free a breathing exhaust as possible, 100-cell seems the sweet spot. 200/250 are virtually indistinguishable from one another but a little bit too quiet. The key is to have a valved system, with the valves closed with ANY of those configs the car is basically silent...

Well, I already have the Novitec Inconel non-valved version, which I love how it has transformed the sound (compared the the valved). I just want more sound, even just 25% more.

Hi everyone, Just wanted to give some of my experience with my 812 exhaust. I have a SF and put a 200 cell and X-pipe. It sounds absolutely perfect imo, and has no drone whatsoever in the cabin. I have considered doing the boxes, but often hear that they are pretty free flowing and don't add much sound, and no performance either.

Someone asked about the OBD and CEL aspect of doing 200 cells. I do not have a tune. I added "mini cats" to the O2 sensor which is basically a bung extension with some platinum mesh. I do experience an occasional CEL...I have had this set up for about 2500 miles and in the last few hundred miles it hasn't come on. However, my simple remedy for this sporadic issue was $40 for a scan tool, and I plug it in to the OBD and clear it in 15 seconds.

That works for the 812SF as a great option, but deleting GPF on the GTS is probably a more consistent issue? 200 cell is plenty loud?
