Great stuff, really. Off-topic but also recommended are the interviews with Gandini, Stanzani (Lambo), Limone (Lancia rally and Alfa DTM), D’Agostino (Alfa DTM and Ferrari F1), etc., etc.
Aston Martin shares plunged 64.2 per cent yesterday and by 7.44 percent so far today. That cannot be healthy for any company.
https://www.planetf1.com/news/sebastian-vettel-italy-president-apology/ Lol…vettel has to go soon. How can a guy still race F1 and waste fuel and resources yet make holier than thou comments about the Monza flyover? how much does his team waste and spend flying car parts to all the races?
I read that as well. As a long term fan of his, he's utterly lost the ****ing plot. Moaning about a plane flying over? Why doesn't he moan about the utter waste of time of bringing him to 21 tracks all over the world, the vast team of people to transport around the world to tracks so he can drive about in Q1? Yet he's all too happy to fly to Sweden next year to do the race of champions, wasting yet more precious fuel to prove to the 6 remaining spectators he's lost all driving ability in his insane Greta Thunberg induced delirium.
Vettel has lost the plot. The fly over at Monza was about the only cool thing at that race. Here's a shot of a "fly over" the roof of my house. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow! Will this effect the team as in they might go away or does the big Stroll still inject $ into the team?
LOL They need to mass produce that Valhalla, pronto, unlimited production at 300K a piece. Such a pretty car.
Pilots need to practice to maintain their skills, and a fly-over has to be seen as just another exercise.
That is definitely true. Except that I'm not sure that all the air forces that have these teams actually would use these pilots in wartime. Fly overs like these certainly give the taxpayers some real entertainment for their bucks and encourage others to join the forces. All these arguments obviously went right over Vettel's head. Just like the Frecce Tircolori.
Chinese Automaker Geely Purchases Minority Stake in Aston Martin China’s largest private automaker Geely adds another automaker to its growing list of high-visibility nameplates. Bye Lance LOL
Geely gets its fingers in many pies lately: Volvo, Polestar, Lynx & Co, Proton, Lotus, LEV(London taxis), Terrafugia, and now Aston Martin. Geely buys European brands for the prestige, with intent to relocate their production in China before long. They will be only minor shareholders at Aston, but still, this isn't reassuring.
IMO former fashion King (Lawrence Stroll) has no place in the car biz He's out of his depth and swimming in his ego
They said the same about Briatore. And later about the king of cans Mateschitz. Managing a F1 team is not that different from managing other competitive businesses.
I would agree. Lawrence, coming out of the gates, has "copied" a couple of cars to notably move up to the front. Unfortunately that concept has backfired for him. As he continues to expand the brand financially, he thinks his money, to include his son, are going to help him and the team move up to the front. Let's see how many more billions it will take to AMF1 to move up to P4 on the WCC standings.
I am not sure Lawrence Stroll has much influence in car design. I think cloning other cars was done by the design team, as a shortcut.
Well, he did copy the listed parts from Merecedes with the help of Toto that ended up costing the team a 15 point deduction in WCC points thereby dropping the team.
