I wanted to order Taormina but was told it is reserved for the foreseeable future for cavalcade cars.
As mentioned in my first post, I don't like Rosso Imola. In the sun it shines... Image Unavailable, Please Login but without the sun it looks burgundy, which I don't like at all. The 296 is much rounder and softer than the previous generations, a softer color doesn't fit to the beast inside. Image Unavailable, Please Login Actually I think about Rosso fiorano, but did not find any good (and prooven) examples in the Net. Does anyone here has an 296 GTB/GTS in RF and would share some fotos ??
Is anyone else between Rosso Corsa and Rosso Scuderia for the 296 GTB? I’m thinking of going Cuoio for the interior and a black wrap on the roof. Would love to see a side by side / hear some thoughts. Think there is a pic floating around of a side by side on the GTB picture thread but having trouble finding it.
I am also debating between those two colors.. I will be heading to the dealership to see if they have samples I can out side by side to compare.
Hope this helps not 296 but .... https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/rosso-corsa-vs-rosso-scuderia.633216/
Having owned both RC in 458’s and RS in CS, I would choose the latter between the two esp on the 296 body shape.
296 GTB in Rosso Magma. Not sure if the video does the color enough justice. I ordered my GTS in Magma
I was told Rosso TRS is a 4 Layer. It's definitely at least a 3 Layer. I think I paid approx $33K. While not the perfect analogy, Rosso TRS is to Rosso Corsa what Giallo Triplo Strato is to Giallo Modena. It's not the perfect analogy because Rosso TRS is not metallic. It's a pearlescent mica paint that looks like the multi-layer version of Rosso Corsa (without the slight orange hue). The former go-to for people that wanted a multi-layer version of Rosso Corsa was Rosso Formula 1 2007. This paint, while beautiful, can look orange. Rosso TRS doesn't have this tendency. I specced Rosso TRS on my F8 Spider and I'm very glad I did. My first Ferrari was a Nero 458. For the first Ferrari I specced, I wanted a Red one. Image Unavailable, Please Login You mentioned that you didn't think Rosso Corsa looked great in the sun. Well, Rosso TRS comes alive in the sun. It was created for the Special Project cars one-off F12 TRS specifically to solve the problem you mentioned. The intent was to create a paint similar to Rosso Corsa but that had more depth and was more dynamic in the bright sun. This is what it looks like up close: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login There's a thread in the SF90 section about someone who has always specced Rosso Corsa but wanted something more for his SF90. The Tailor Made team he worked with recommended he go with Rosso TRS but he didn't. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/my-sf90-stradale-review.676428/ He states: "My biggest regret is not going for Rosso TRS like the TM designer suggested after we'd settled on the config" If you like a traditional red but want a multi-layer paint that does a good job showing off the lines of the car and looks great in the sun, Rosso TRS is a good option to consider. If you want a darker 3/4 layer metallic red, there are many great options including Fuoco, Magma, Maranello, Coburn, etc. I hope this helps.
@RoadRonin Thank you so much for your explanation, wow, this is very inspiring. I have to ask my dealer about TRS, even though +30k is something that irritates me. Not because of the amount of money, there is no issue if the base price of the car was 314K€ instead of 310K€. But thank you very much !!
I chose Rosso Corsa over Imola as the $12,000 premium just did not sit right with me. To each his own.
I am trying to find any one with a pic of a Rosso Magma and. Rosso Coburn outside . under lights it is all too hard to judge. The premium for the paint is tough to swallow but I think I am going down the red path rather than the blue path considering , TDF , Electrico and Blu Corsa . My thoughts are when it comes to the crunch red looks the part , a special red adds to it and when you want to sell the car in 3 to 5 years it will move better in red than it will in a blue .
I went with Rosso F1 2007 on my SF90. It looks great in sun and shade. Image Unavailable, Please Login
