Did any of these use the 105/80-18 tire? I'm tempted to try the motorcycle tire...

Just for the hell of it. Suppose you have a flat tire on your 3x8. And further suppose that you have a Ferrari OEM spare. So you jack the car up, remove the real wheel/tire and install the spare. What do you do with the real wheel/tire? Where do you carry it as you continue down the road?

    LOL!

For what it's worth, even a rear wheel fits under the front hood in my 328.

While i was doing the 360 wheel upgrade, so i could stuff bigger brakes under the car, i never considered that a 225/40-18, (same o.d. as the stock tire), wouldn't fit in the trunk. Forget even trying to get a 255/35-18 tire in there.

I am a bit uneasy carying around a couple of cans of fix-a-flat and a shop manual to lay my hand on and praying to enzo that it works, so, if you can come up with a practical, (as opposed to correct and $$$$$$$$), i'm in for one.

No doubt, there are a few more upgraded cars with the same problem :)

    Go for it Birdman.

    Humbled, once again,
    chris

You want a space saver spare that works or does it HAVE to be a Ferrari space saver?

I sold mine to a guy in New Zealand several years ago. I would never put that on my car and drive with it, its that simple. I will call the flat bed and have my car towed to wherever to get the tire fixed. I have used the space under the bonnet for my audio system amplifier, as well for storage if needed. And the other guy is right, where the **** are you going to put the bad tire ?? Are you kidding me ??? !!!! That thing is a waste of space and its useless, so theres that. This dumb prick in NZ gave me 950.00 for that POS and also paid for the shipping ....Glad to be rid of it, like I said, its useless.

Last month I had to buy a replacement donut for my '89 328. The original 34yo spare could no longer hold air. I can't imagine why.

125/70-18 Continental Sport Contact ($123 @ Discount Tire, as of October 2023) is the perfect size to match the rotational diameter of the stock tires and wheels (205mm and 225mm on 16").

It's good finally to hear of an actual purchase rather than hypothetical availability for these tires
