    Basically, during COVID, most elective/outpatient services were shutdown. The number of coronary angiograms dropped by almost 30% = significant delays in diagnosis = more deaths.

    So premature deaths have pulled the curve to the left. Hopefully the numbers will now regress to the mean shape of the curve and it will correct the blip

    Although Fleming is credited with its discovery, it was an Australian, Florey, who realised its importance and pushed hard for its use as an antibiotic. Benzathine was a later variant developed in the US - a horribly painful intramuscular injection, but great for treating Syphilis.
    Edit: So, not Greek.
