Image Unavailable, Please Login We would need a whole thread for the races in USA but here is 0376AM renumbered to 0362AM at El Mirage Dry Lake in May 1954 with Tony Parravano. The car reached a top speed of 172 mph !! Yes ! 276,81 km/h !! Crazy !!
I can confirm that, I tested one for Prancing Horse in 1998 and the handling is best described as a wheelbarrow with 340hp;-) BUT I loved driving it much more than modern "Zupercars".
Wonderful to see these photos from races in my country of birth The caption reads: Hedemora race 1954: from the good old days when races still took place on public roads in Sweden. Duncan Hamilton can be seen in his C Type jaguar in the lead in front of a Ferrari.

Hello, I'm making my first post but I have followed this forum for some time. My main interest is in the Ferrari 375 Grand Prix cars, mainly the ex Rosier 375 that came to New Zealand in 1955 and stayed until 1992, I think. Recently though, I have been learning more about the other 375s. Several days ago I found several posts and photos from Marcel, back in January, concerning the monoposto, 0388. He wrote that the car had a long racing career starting in 1952. I would be very interested in knowing his thoughts on its history prior to the Chinettis purchasing it in 1954. I read some old posts on this forum suggesting it was Ascari's 1952 Indianapolis car. I think it is more likely to be the car Villoresi debuted at the Gran Premio del Valentino in April 1952 then raced again at libre races at Silverstone and Boreham in July and August. The car then seems to disappear. Thanks for any input. Regards, Allan
Hi Allan, these cars were the subject of an article in Cavallino magazine #219. Don’t think there is a connection with 0388...

#1019 does look like our mystery Scaglietti 500 Mondial prototype, perhaps 0306TF. Do we think the listing as a 750 Monza is incorrect ?
At Bari on 21 May 1954, our mystery Scaglietti spyder prototype was entered in Sport 3000. May be the same thing for the Giro dell’Umbria. So was it a 750 S ? Or a 750 Monza ? Or the entry lists are wrong and it was always a 500 Mondial ?
