What is the replacement cost for the LaFerrari battery pack, if even available? What will this do to the resale value?

I thought batteries were getting cheaper! Not in Ferrariland- they adjust for inflation and then add another 50%

Amen. EV Hypercars - for whom the bell tolls- it tolls for thee. Meanwhile GM has finished producing Malibu’s and will gear up in the same factory to produce EVs that no one will buy.
I can see it now- somewhere near Area 51 there will be a sea of parked EVs- unloved , unattended and blistering in the sun and when visitors from outer space come around they’ll laugh, “silly humans, using electricity for propulsion. We gave that up light years ago…”

The claim: CO2 is 0.04% of the atmosphere and humans have contributed only 3% of that
"How much carbon dioxide is in the atmosphere? It's 0.04%. And of that 0.04%, human beings around the world create 3%. And of that 3%, Australia creates 1.3%. So, for the 1.3% of the 3% of the 0.04%, we then decide to have a national economic suicide." Dont quite get the argument that 3% of 0.04% of CO2 is more damaging than the 97% that is produced by the earth naturally?

Vigna knows EV are imploding, even Rimac, top of the line Nevera hyper-EV cannot manage to sell 150 cars...or even 51 cars..

    https://www.carscoops.com/2024/05/slow-selling-nevera-is-a-sales-flop-because-rich-people-want-ice-supercars-mate-rimac-says/

Mate Rimac says wealthy buyers want anolog, combustion-powered supercars and hypercars, not EVs
Croatian firm has only delivered 50 of the 150 Neveras it planned to build
Rimac says Bugatti will continue as ICE brand

Three years after the Nevera was launched together with a plan to sell 150 of the 1,888 hp (1,914 PS / 1408 kW) quad-motor hypercars, just over 50 have been delivered, Mate Rimac told attendees at the Financial Times Future of the Car conference in London, Autocar reports.

Even Vigna's contemporaries are out on EV:

    https://robbreport.com/motors/cars/lamborghini-ceo-electric-supercars-future-e-fuels-1235624155/

Lamborghini’s CEO Still Isn’t Convinced Electric Supercars Will Catch On

Winkelmann isn’t alone in his concern for the future of high-performance EVs. Aston Martin chairman Lawrence Stroll cited a lack of customer interest as the reason why his company was delaying the debut of its first EV and turning its focus to hybrid models.

    My prediction:
Ferrari's EV will be a disaster, take years to come to market after reveal (due to numerous technical problems) and nearly no sales for all that effort, it will make the GT4CLusso look like a sales juggernaut...

It will be quickly put to bed and hybrids and non-hybrid ICE will prevail, oh, and Vigna will be out as CEO, all the blame will be put on him for Ferrari EV failure

Fortunately buildings can be re-purposed. Seems Ferrari will be learning an expensive lesson in market demand, the market for high end super cars is not demanding EV. The entire EV charade is only via government coercion and that never results in true market demand.

Forgot to mention in the list of peers, Pagani, he also will not be making an EV hypercar.
    https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a40613060/pagani-no-electric-supercar/

    and others:
    https://carbuzz.com/5-upcoming-supercars-that-refuse-to-go-electric/

Elkann's other "EV project" (Stellantis) is learning the EV lesson right now, it is going down in flames
    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-01-31/dealmaking-stellantis-ceo-is-ready-to-seize-on-renault-s-setback

In my opinion Ferrari (Elkann) would be wise to fire Vigna now, bring in Leiters as CEO and replace the digital interiors will functional gauges, dials, controls...and re-start V12 development!

The entire "2035" no more ICE is already falling apart with 10+ years to go, will never hold, bank on that now, the rebellion is only beginning...

Why are you concerned about the electric model? Ferrari also sells V12s if you prefer.

simple, too much focus on it will be ruin of any legacy car company, happening in real-time, right now, throughout all those who focus too hard on EVs, some of those are coming to their senses and appropriately de-focusing resources on EV, it's just a matter of time when Ferrari will also do so, sooner than later would be wise

I understand, but i don’t think Ferrari focused only on EV car, I see this like a new actor on Ferrari movie. Ferrari give the possibility to choice which you like as much, n/a, hybrid or EV. Big difference with Rimac offering only EV and don’t have pedigree or history, for Lamborghini it’s VAG decided futur plans it’s another history.

Previously you wrote about the Ferrari V12, they no longer care, they disbanded the V12 engineering team at the end of 2021 (with public firing of Leiters) and quite blatantly insulted all the 812C owners by putting their special engine in the new '12 cilindri' which is really the 812C V12, could you imagine the uproar had the F12TDF engine been put straight into the 812SF, and both in production at the same time? And, it appears Ferrari is about to stop V8 for new models and focus solely on V6...so that would be 'EV' or 'V6' for future development, the other engines "frozen" in their development. That means Ferrari would be putting 50% of their new 'engine designs' into EV...that's significant...
And Rimac now "owns" Bugatti, and Mate said no EV for Bugatti...

Well at least it will clear out those that are taking Ferrari down the wrong path. The Purosangue would have been a disaster if not for the V12 Engine.
