On a serious note though, I’ve stated here a couple years ago the same thing… and that weird giggly little Brit is actually correct— I don’t know about ‘collectible’, but will be heavily desired for sure and soon.

I think so too. It is a timeless design really, and I think that it will absolutely hold its own in the market to come.

sorry guys, no not in a true collectible sense like a Pista or a C can be. If you want to feel better though it will hold more than Vettes, Lamborgjhinis, and McLarens.

It dropped about $80k in 10 months.

The spiders that were selling for,$50-$60 over a year ago are now the same amount under MSRP.

There a a lot of them on the market these days.

Hopefully they wil level out soon and star the upward trend.

For the V8s, I think it's hard to go beyond a 458 - bullet proof and an NA engine. Would always buy a 458 before an F8 - not arguing that an F8 is not a good car but for me it's the 458 which, I think in the fullness of time will hold value better.

A pollI ran last fall was to test this exact point. Compared to the 458 Speciale, Pista variants, and 296 variants, the F8 received the fewest votes.

The top was 458 Speciale, Pista and 296GTS.

    See here: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/7-mid-engines.670966/#post-148926697

The poll is at the top of the page.

Then there all the comments of why I didn't include every other model that had a V8. The pollwas constructed to test the “modern” day V8 that would be the most likely market acquisitions right now.

FYI to the folks taking this WAY too seriously, obviously Shmee isn't the be-all-end-all on what's considered a 'collectable' Ferrari, and I'm sure very few people think that the F8 will actually be a collectable Ferrari. But as a current owner, it's nice to have the dream that if I keep this car it'll become even more desirable than it already is.

With this new information from Shmee you should be able to go to a bank and get a 200% LTV on another F8. Use the extra money and get more loans to keep buying more F8s and retire early.

    Buy one, enjoy one.

    If appreciated great.
If depreciated at least you tried and failed ;)

There will be people looking for F8's for years to come. Just like 458 and 488, a well taken care of car will be desirable. Some like the 458 for a reason others the 488 and others the F8. Each version has good merits on why someone would purchase.

As far as a collectable for any of these models.... only time will tell and it is going to take a few decades to realize.
