Believe it only comes as part of the window switch… new they look to be $161 or so. Maybe you can find a used one on eBay or somewhere else, especially as you don’t care about the condition of the switch. https://www.ricambiamerica.com/car-diagrams/ferrari/v6-v8/430-group/f430-05-08/dashboard-and-tunnel-instruments.html
Does anyone have the screw size for these 3 screws? Ricami is saying its not listed on the parts diagram. Could someone take a photo if are installing their unit?
OK, getting ready to build my Power Acoustik harness for my Bose system and many things do not make sense with the recommended Metra harness which just arrived from Amazon. I haven’t removed my radio in a while so I pulled the Becker Cascade install doc. Looking at the Becker docs i can see the reverse signal is sent, but the Metra cable doesn’t have a pin/wire for it. I’ll have to add a wire for that. I also know the Becker radio line out is on connector C1 not connector B which the Metra uses for the RCA plugs. The lines the Metra use on connector B are for powered, not line level according to Becker, so I expect the Bose amp doesn’t use them and instead uses the line out on connector C1. When I pull my radio I can confirm this, but can someone who has a Bose setup post a picture of your harness for the Power Acoustic?
It looks like that his unit will soon support Android Auto and customizable background images. The walmart page reflects this with an option to download new firmware. Unfortunately, the download link shows the firmware as coming soon. It does look promising for Android users.
I don’t know why, but I find this thread more interesting than the ones about how often I should change timing belts. [emoji23][emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I imagine you would want to create a connection into the BOSE amp inputs with the low level RCA outputs of the new deck. Image Unavailable, Please Login Perhaps you can get a mini-ISO extension to cut up to access the various Line Out (which would go Line In) to the amp? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I actually ordered one of these cables last night to cut up. I also need to figure out which de-pining tool I need for these connectors.
You’ll need the harness adapter with the RCA connections to connect directly to the head unit. mine is the same. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
How does this work for your Bose unit? You don't have the Bass signal hooked up, the Power Acoustik's RCA output are line level which you are then feeding into the speaker level inputs? Doesn't the Bose use the yellow connector (C1) for the audio input or did you bypass your Bose amplifier (8800)?
Works fine. Sub works too. I connected it the same way the previous owner had it done at an audio shop. As far as I know, you simply need line level in to the usually speaker harness and the Bose amp takes care of the rest.
Wait the owner of the car previously had audio modifications? Maybe your car is different then mine which has the stock unmodified Bose setup.
I guess I'll pull my radio to see if the yellow connector (C1) is wired up and in use. I suspect it is as there were some references to the yellow connector here on Ferrarichat for the Bose. Are you sure they didn't bypass the amp or add a line converter when they changed the head unit. It seems to be the easiest thing to do if you don't care about keeping the Bose
I've done a deep dive inside to see what was installed and I have the original invoice. No line converter, just the harness adapter that takes pre-amp out directly into the harness.
Installed mine today! Huge upgrade…from the Alpine I had…now I gotta get better speakers Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have an android smartphone, and not in the US, I've found this head unit, anyone have experience with this unit, or can add input https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/204142180977?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=705-154756-20017-0&ssspo=vpBxfjwtTLa&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=tklYbJiWT-y&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
How do you do that? I just installed mine but does not have knobs like yours…I would love to have Ferrari logo displayed Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That was a different unit altogether. Notice the screen extends above the radio opening in his picture.
I looked at this but it won't fit. The nose is too large (189 mm x 71 mm). It needs to be approx 188 mm x 58 mm. Sent from my SM-G955F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I verified my front speakers are stock tonight…I love how the new radio looks but sounds awful…(even the alpine was awful) the speakers break up especially if you turn it up where u can actually hear it over the Tubi exhaust…willl just upgrading the speakers fix the issue or do I need a amp…what’s the difference between the plug and play speakers at scuderia audio https://scuderiaaudio.com/product/360-audison-6-5-plug-play-system/ And these that appear to be the same on eBay ? https://www.ebay.com/itm/235549885064?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=lasbGYihQ-m&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=BI0GYspITgu&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
I just have some pioneer 6.5 3 way speakers that fit right in with the Factory speaker grills. You don’t really need to spend hundreds of $ on those unless you just want to. I still have the factory tweeters also.
I installed my Power Acoustik unit on Sunday, and it looks and works great. I also tried the update, which didn't go well. I think it is for Android Auto, but I use an iPhone, so I don't care.
Wait - is there an Android Auto update for Power Acoustik unit? I just sent mine back because it was Apple only...and we are an Android household :-(
