No, just the rears my friend, the front are where they should be. Some people run spacers on the 355 in the rear 15mm, I am doing that... so one could machine off 12mm and get it looking good. Can always do more later if one wishes. Not sure how much you can take off or how much meat is there but people have done it.

I have 360 rims on my 348 without modifications/spacers. Fits and looks perfect.

Looks are subjective. The rear wheels absolutely stick out far more than normal. If people like that look then fine. It is atypical of this type of car is all.

On a 67 Camaro it may seem in character but on these cars I disagree.

I've machined 14mm off my rears and they look the part. Now I just need to drop the rear a few mm too, and everything should look correct.

While doing research on the matter, I came to the conclusion that the latest years with wider track (i.e. Spiders, GTB/S, etc.) will take the 360 wheels and look perfect as-is, while the earlier cars (like mine, from '92) need machining.

Just not so, 89 - 95 have the exact same track, so does the 355. All the same. The mid model change for 348 was JUST the rear wheel 25mm offset not some suspension change that pushed it out an inch. It was just the rear wheel offset.

Yep. :) Eric got to it before I did. :)

That being said honestly I don't really like the 360 wheels on the 348. They just look "okay" to me. Not quite hideous, but far from "I absolutely love it."

Personally, I love the factory 348 wheels. I especially think they look great on Mondials too.

I do have a set of Challenge wheels but I haven't quite come around to fitting them.

Searching threads for ideal offsets, lots of conflicting opinions

    https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/348-best-spacers-setup-tried-them-all.81305/page-2

    My take-away from that thread:
Rear: OEM + 25mm spacers are ideal for improved handling.
Front: OEM +15mm spacers put the fenders at risk. 10mm spacers are safer, but caution required. Neither front spacer option improves handling significantly.

    360 Starfish wheels
Front wheels are same width as OEM, 7.5"
Offset changes from ET49 to ET31.5. This is the equivalent of OEM + 17.5mm spacer. Shouldn't the fronts need machining?

Rear wheels are 25.4mm wider, 12.7mm wider on each side of wheel centerline.
Offset changes from ET68 to ET39
Inner strut clearance is increased by 16.3mm (ET68 - ET39 = outward 29mm, minus 12.7mm for the wider wheel)
Outer protrusion is increased by 41.7mm (ET68 - ET39 = outward 29mm, plus another 12.7mm for the wider wheel)
This 41.7mm is the "big poke" everyone's talking about.

Machining 17mm off the rears would make it equivalent of OEM + 24.7mm spacer. This seems to be a common course of action.
If the fronts were also machined 17mm, it would be within 0.5mm of OEM.
35mm wheel bolts would be required all around.

    Or, a wider option?
12mm machined off all 4 wheels
Front would be equivalent of OEM + 5.5mm spacer.
Rear would be equivalent of OEM + 29.7mm spacer.
40mm wheel bolts would be required all around.

Could mix & match the options, but it would be nice to have 20 identical wheel bolts.

Just a question to you all,
    Does VA8JX18 T49 and RA 10JX18 ET 68 speed lines fit a 1994 348 spider?

68mm is really high for the rear of a 348. They might fit but they will look goofy. Try tools like this: https://www.willtheyfit.com/

Something more in the neighborhood of 40-50 would be better (on a 10”). Factory wheels are 9” et43

I went thru this whole thread. My goodness is it filled with hideous wheels. Some real stinkers.

Not that I’m immune from bad wheels! I’ve had some eye sores myself.

The challenge with wheels, in my not so humble opinion, is to find something that works with the car and not something that is simply just cool-looking on a shelf.

Many folks tend to fall in love with a wheel, not the overall package. That’s been my experience. And I’ve certainly done it myself.
