    Hi everyone,

Recently bought a 348. Its an amazing machine but gives electronic gremlins. Power windows either doesnt work, or requires me to press down the button a long time before they get moving. Yesterday i pressed down the unlock button on the center console and the car kept locking and unlocking itself continuously. So on and so fort.

I thought these all could be about the battery, and thinking about replacing it, which i have done on Harleys, but never on a car. It currently has a flooded 124R 700CCA battery which seems like an odd choice after reading through this forum. What battery would all recommend me? My understanding is that a 34R AGM is what specs call for, but would it easier to put another 124R as a direct replacement?

Also, again searching through this forum I see that you need to jack up the car and take the driver rear tire off to reach the battery. When I opened up the engine bay, it seems like there is enough space to pull the battery out though. What am I missing here?

    Thank you all!

On later cars, the battery was put behind the right hand front wheel arch.

Let us know if your issues continue with a new battery.

It's easier to take a rear battery out through the arch. Wheel off, Philips head screws to take the fiberglass fender liner out, then you can get to the battery hold down.

I'm not sure you can get to the hold down otherwise.

I have a 34R, and there's definitely not enough room to take it out the top.

If the micro switch at either of the door latches, (which confirms the door is properly closed) isn’t making good contact, the locks will hop.

I’ve replaced 348 batteries from both the top and from the wheel well. I found that the proper and easiest way is through the wheel well.

Generally, if the lock actuators on both doors can't go through their full motion, the locking is rejected. This will happen, as Mike says, if the door is not latched properly. It can also be caused by a faulty microswitch in the door actuator and door latch mechanical issues.
