On the weekend I noticed when hoofing it around a left hander that a red light with a brake indicator on the dash comes on for a second or so. Could this be low brake fluid levels or just the handbrake light switch being activated for some reason due to g-force loads? Any ideas appreciated.
I was thinking fluid levels, why would a light come on going around a left hander if its the pads wearing thin?? surely it would be more prone to this when braking hard??
Good point - I saw the word 'corner' and assumed brakes were involved. Ooops. Never assume............
Just happened to me few minutes ago. I was driving on the ramp and was going a little hard and the lights blinked few times and felt like I was losing traction... Interesting. Did you ever find out?
Would you please clarify what you mean by "brake warning light". Image Unavailable, Please Login Or was it an ASR (traction) warning?
Ok... If only the BRAKE (or (!)) light is illuminating, it's either because of low fluid (or faulty fluid level sensor), worn front brake pads or wiring. Check fluid level. If ok, disconnect the electrical plug on the sensor (on the reservoir cap) to see if the light extinguishes. Image Unavailable, Please Login If no luck, check the wiring going to the brake pad wear sensors on the front wheels (see photo below)... If the brake pads are ok, only the pink wire shorting to ground/wheel assembly can give you a false brake wear indication. Image Unavailable, Please Login If no obvious wiring issues, then check for brake pad wear. If you can't see the pads, in theory, if you pull the earth wire plug off each front wheel (one at a time) and the light goes out, it should tell you which brake pad is worn.
Hi there, so I checked the fluid level and it was ok . I haven't had a chance to look at the wires yet. The light just flickered on a turn and went away . That was all . Strange as always . Ferrari gizmos
