From www.qv500.com " 1994 "F40 LM Competizione" - the very last example, chassis number ZFFGX34X000099401 and engine number F120B20. Purchased from Ferrari North America and shipped to my place in Japan. Barely 60 miles run! Never raced, fabulous condition, superior engine compartment. Never damaged, always suitably stored, documented history. Don't miss this chance to get the last genuine F40 LM! " Wow! Stunning car, just happened to come across it looking through the net. Dunno much about them but is it not pumping out abtit more than the standard 470 odd BHP?! Yours for only 550,000 GBP !! If only I had the money !
Wow that is amazing - massive slicks! A normal used F40 will go for 140,000 here in London, so 550,000 is I guess more for a collector to pay who is never going to actually use it. Must be amazing just to stare at it in person. Does anyone know the BHP?
did you see it is hanging on life-support on the rear bumper. A respirator pumping air into the system
Doing some research.... How about 720bhp, 2.6 bar compared to standard 1.1 bar, up-rated engine management, intercoolers, turbo's, 355mm Brembo's, OZ wheels and a 0-60 time of 3.1 sec..........oh, and it will do 229mph......
The only Ferrari (with the F40) that I can think of that I actually WANT without qualification. IMO the last word in motoring and at £550K - worth every penny. What a shame they don't build 'em like they used to.
Not for me! My morning commute goes by the FBI office. That thing would rattle the windows! They'd be on me like an Enron exec.
It's not that they're fragile, it's that if you don't drive them the engine gets all messed up. The hoses perish and components get rusty and so on.
I'm sure this owner has properly cared for a major investment. We did have to fix one that tried to run on stale gas. It messed up the cats. About $4K IIRC.
If you really don't want to drive it on the road for fear of rock chips or something, can't you just run it on like a dyno or gigantic treadmill or something just to keep it fresh?
"Barely 60 miles run! Never raced" All I can say is.... What a shame! How someone can own this race car, and all they can do is visually masturbate, instead of Drive it. What a sad sad thing.
Nice car. Not up on LM pricing but isn't that high for a car with no race creds? There's a 333SP for sale on Michael Sheehan's site that has fairly impressive race record for much less.
have you checked out Roland's F40LM? he drove it in the Player's Run. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/member.php?find=lastposter&t=7990 if you search around there are lots of cool pictures and articles about he and his f40lm all over the board.
i see "only 60 miles" as a bad thing. itll take some maintaince and care to make sure all of the seals and injectors are up to par. also ive read that it outputs 780 hp not 720, but i suppose that it all depends on how much boost you run.
60 miles is not enough. Unless the guy started it once a week. Even then the suspension and the rest of the car does not get worked. This is why it is good to get a Ferrari that someone has driven weekly, instead of to the grocery store every 3 months. My 355 runs flawless because I drive it twice a week. Keeps everything lubricated. That car is a great show piece, but unfortunatley it has now become a piece of art. You can't run a car that has just sat there for 15 years. It would take some rebuilding before it was driveable, i'm sure. Cars are like humans. Leave one in a lazy boy chair for 15 years and they are worthless. Exercise them on a regular basis and upkeep them and they will run perfect for a very long time. I guarantee you if you put that car up against one with 40,000 miles, it would not stand a chance. What a shame to see.
