Nice day for a drive for once. OK, It was FREEZING!! Overall, a great drive put together by DJ Parks. Thank you, DJ! Here's the first of 3 pics I took (too busy driving for other pics ).
9 cars today. Not bad considering the bone-chilling condition. It was great meeting, for the first time, Kaleb (grigio 308 GTS), Kai (red 328GTB), and Larry (red DINO 308GT4). I hope to see you guys again on future drives.
Willis, nice picture of my Boxer! Two firsts for the car today..... a rock chip on the front of the hood and a chip in the pristine windshield.... GRRRRRR... One of the Ferraris in front of me cut across the road and threw up some gravel. Other than that, a fun day. Also, today I learned that my car does -NOT- have 18K miles on it. It has 18K kilometers (= 11K miles) the odometer was not converted. I had zero'd the trip meter when we left the house today. When we got home it was at 332 (206 miles) that's when I figured out the deal..... Nice to know the car has fewer miles on it than I originally thought.
Thank you Gary, DJ, and Kai!!! Gary and Willis, you guys should've headed back with us, Kai took us on some amazing, winding backroads. Here are my pics...
LOVE THESE CARS!!! That was too FUN!!! i was tapped out in 4th gear and coming up on a blind curve. honestly at those speeds, i wasn't thinking aesthetics. i needed to be safe and planted, for that high speed transition. Gary, my apologies for the battle scars. it's such a beautiful sports car w/an engine that SINGS perfection. i hope the windsheild can be filled in and the chips buffed out. and i hope you bring it out again; love that car. DJ, thanks for scouting out the roads this morning for us. that was really a great route. my engine needed that. great to meet everyone. thanks again Dave! will drop by for a latte. it's so rare to see these cars at speed. can't get enough. what a great time!
Andrew, Which roads did Kai take you guys through? I drove all the way through Highway 9. It's a pretty straight line going south, so I used the time to listen to the car for unusual noises and check for other odd things after the run (none found). Then I took a detour to take some backroads and through Paradise Lake Road. There was snow on the ground and a lot of large fallen trees on the side of the road. Other than that, it was a perfect drive today.
Larry, No problem.... it's wasn't your car that threw the rock. I'm not going to say who it was, because no one's to blame. Gary PS: Your 308 GT4 goes like a bat out of hell!
GOT MY INTERNET BACK! My Dinosaur64 was working okay, COMCAST was the problem! What a fabulous day! Cold but fun. I'm glad everybody liked the roads out here but I have to apologize for the paint chips sustained by Gary in his 512BB (not a virgin anymore Gary!) and Dave L.. I was hoping the smattering of sand here and there wouldn't have been a problem. I also want to say WELCOME to Caleb in his 79 GTS and Larry in his GT4. Glad you could make the run. There is plenty more coming up. Do you have your snow tires yet? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Also welcome to Kai! Your 328 hauls! Nice pass! I have to agree that Larry's GT4 hauls too. When you guys went out towards Granite, Larry had to play catch up. Left me in the dust. Wish I would have gone with you guys up Jordan road but my house was only a 1/4 mile up the hill. When I get the shop built I'll have an open house. You have to bring your own road kill for the 'barbie' though. Image Unavailable, Please Login
KUZI on my A$$ all day!(one handed over the shoulder shot) Thanks for showing us out to the Farmhouse for lunch. Good choice! Image Unavailable, Please Login
One of the last stops. Hands in pockets and arms crossed! About 36 degrees out. Engines love that cold rich air, right guys? Image Unavailable, Please Login
