I`m wondering/asking what is the correct air-pressure for each tyre size and wheel size on your Ferrari? Do you drive with overinfaltion? Do you check the pressure with cold tyres or after you have driven the car? I`m serious asking this `cause whenever I ask a dealer or mechanic I get another answer.
I have always been told to measure the tyre presure after having driven the car, because the presure will rise as the air expand when getting heated in the tyres. I was told that the presure given in manuals for a given tyre size should be measured when the tyres are warm/normal driving temperature! But this is only what I have been told.... it worked for all of my cars.... Best regards Carsten
@Ton, no, no racers just let me know the usual pressure/size you are driving. I can`t work with my manual `cause I have changed from 17" to 18" and a big bigger size (the 512M set you know). Reading the manual from the 512M is different from the testa one. @Carsten, have you ever checked whtas the difference between cold & hot messure? I have never done this.
Hi Wolfgang, No I have not checked the difference between hot and cold tyre pressure! I understand your problem with having changed the tyres to a bigger size and now the pressure told in your manual does not fit the new tyre size.... hmmmm.... how about asking a Ferrari dealer? Best regards Carsten
Hi Carsten, thanks for the SM (stored it), thats the problem. Never ask at Ferrari!! They know so less....nothing!!! My garage master R.F. told me to drive with 2.5 & 2.8 Another gent with a testarossa and 18" wheels is driving with 3.5
Okay buddy.... Thank you too, just saw the SM now I thought Ferrari should now.... When driving at speed there is very much diference in the ballance and steering (under/oversteer) of a car between 2.8 and 3.5 in pressure.... not least in a Ferrari I should say!!! I will see if I can find an explanation on pressures/tyre size somewhere!
