(1) Fewer non-owners. (2) Fewer "it's all about RWHP and my gazillion horsepower Ducati" people (3) I can remember when all these models were released!
Enzo had a hand in the production Handbuilt Cheap parts from FerrariUK No deprecition suprises Rare, all I see are 360s (too many to count) and occasional 355s, I have seen 1 328 on the road here in Vegas in the last 7 years, maybe 10 308s and 10 or so TRs Raw and fun to drive
We can still do routine servicing ourselves too! Plus, the designs were so appealing. I'll share the first line from a sports car buyer's guide in the March issue of Car (UK) featuring the 328. What's the thrill? A reminder that Ferraris were once really, really pretty.
I always find it amusing, that my car is a "classic". And people who see the car for the first time always ask me about its age and are surprised to hear how old it is.
Agreed. The Euro 308 is a great design IMHO. The curves/lines/proportions are glorious. A thing of beauty that appears to have been forgotten in many more modern car designs What is also amazing is how SMALL the car is. During Fchat meets the newer cars look boated and too tall by comparison IMHO.
True on both. The 360 could use some off the more edgy lines. I have a very limited parking space so I did a bit of research and the 308 is the narrowest Ferrari of the "modern era" (that is not counting a 125). Hence the pick.
The best thing definately is lower 'noise' that sometimes fills posts. Only the true classic tifosi here.
PS: When i said "taller" in my previous post... i meant not just ground clearance but also in how tall the overall car is. Stock height is only 44.71 inches for the 308GTS QV. Compare this to the 360 Spider at 48.6 in. while the 575 is 50.27 in. Am lowering the GTS here about 1.5 inches, so it should be around 43 in high. That is a short 3 feet 7 inches high.... or at bellybutton. Now THAT is what i call keeping all the weight LOW to the ground for a street car
"Fewer "it's all about .....my gazillion horsepower..." Amen: I drove my bro in law's c5 Corvette, six speed manual. Yes, in third gear if you nail it, it takes off, but so what? Driving around like you would a real car, it is NO MORE fun than my lil' ole underpowered Mondial. In fact, I'll take the Mondi over the Vette.
