Those of you that have removed the fiberglass spare compartment... Is it just a matter of cutting the seam sealer, and drilling out the rivets? Or is there anything else I should know before I begin.
Look around a bit more. Mine is held in with 4-6 black phillips head screws. Had to remove the rubber seal strip also.
No seal, just 6 to 8 screws. Be patient as it seems like for everything else Ferrari made sure to multiply the number of screwsso look carefully around the rim of the fiber board
The lower part IS sealed to the chassis with seam sealer. Break the seal with a putty knife, then drill out the rivets. The upper part is just screwed down.
Thanks Ric, that is what I thought but wanted to be sure. I want to media blast and refinish the frame under the spare tub.
How can it be designed sealed, since you have to access the battery from time to time? Silly question maybe...
No, the fiberglass tub is sealed to the frame with rivets and putty. There is an opening in it to get to the battery.
