Joe, Like real Ferraris, you must be a 1:18 288 GTO owner before the dealer will consider you for the Lusso.
Mule - didn't I tell you? I got lucky and got the HW 1:18 288GTO from Muscara in Italy. I now have 3 Bburago 288s and 1 HW 288. So please sign me up for the Lusso! Man is that sweet!
Joe, Okay, your Lusso application will be considered. Can't wait to get one myself. I have gotten a lot of F1 lately, but it's been a long time since a new street Ferrari came out that I want. Maybe I will get two, and paint one black.
Did some searching and it seems that Mattel is going to release a 1:18 Lusso, but I'm wondering about the base in the picture. I haven't seen any Mattel Ferraris that came mounted on a base. Have you?
A lot of the prototyes are on special bases. I remember the first Ferrari 360 was presented to the president of Ferrari on a special wooden base when mattel started the contract. Maybe Dana has an "in" with Mattel.
Uh, oh, goes to show how much or little I know about the older Ferraris. Good news is though, that there is a new model coming to my collection then. Great! Got that California right underneath it? Parks next to my 250 GT as well.
Dana's Lusso is really nice... alittle too nice to be a Mattel IMO. Come on Dana tell us the scoop please!
Yeah, I got a whole display for all cars bearing the 250 number system, 250 TR, 250LM, 250 GTo, 250GT SWB, 250 California, and hopefully soon a 250 Lusso! I do that with all my cars. I have a display showing the evolution of the mid engine road cars, starting with the 246 Dino, 308 GTB, 308 GTS, 308 QV, 328 GTB, 328 GTS 348...,355...,360...
I remember that. You mentioned that before and I thought that was a neat idea. You're always a step ahead of the rest of us.
There is a local shop in Dallas that has some of the Jouef Ferraris available for <$40. When I was in there a few weeks ago, they had a P4, a 412M, and 250GT, and another I can't remember. If anybody needs one, PM me.
Alright Guys, Found pics of the Lusso and the 166 M on a German Website. The owner does custom models in the 1/18 scale for a very reasonable price. I am planning on purchasing both models, as that I know that they will be a lot nicer than mattels' models. But I'm not telling who yet, until I see the finished product.
So I need a 288GTO 1:18 to apply for 250 Berlinetta Lusso 1:18 ownership? Darn, will a beautiful 250LM (got it today) be able to sub in for the 288? I really want one of those, the Lusso has PERFECT proportions.
Hi, In your picture is not a 250 GT Lusso that was produced at 350 exemplaries with 240 HP, but a 250 GT berlinetta SWB, produced in 2 versions, lusso and competizione at about 160 exmplaries, with engines developing 260-280 HP. The only one that produced a 250 GT Lusso was Carlo Brianza, a famous car model builder in the 70's, usually at larger scales like 1/14. Model, expensive, existed in kit or built. Ciao Greg
