    Have the "old" running on 4 cyl routine. Did all the digiplex/coil swap tests and seems to be no spark on one of the coils. Can any 12 volt electonic coil be used . Has anyone replaced their coils with aftermarket items which are an improvement. The original coil has a 4 ohm resistance. Is this a critical value.

    Don't know if there is an alternative, however the stock coil is only S94 plus tax and freight costs. I assume this is your coil :-

    You can use the Bosch blue coils.
