WooHoo! That means Bryon is still running strong in his 456. I'm sure Roland is also doing well in the F40.
I heard yesterday in Niagara Falls that Roland is shipping the car for legs of the trip... unfortunately Roland didn't come to Canada. Yesterday one of the Murcielago drivers was saying he got stopped by cops and they surrounded the car with their guns drawn!
acutally ... spoke to the guys that landed first at niagara falls ... in the red corvette. they said that they averaged about 110-120 the murci didn't come in till way after ... both of them ... i think it just attracted a lot more attention in yellow or lime green ... than say a 456 in grey
I dunno - but it was the yellow one, not the lime! I'm certain we'll hear the full story after the run (cause he's an Fchatter ) - and apparently the navigator didn't put his camera down so maybe that will make the starting sequence to the DVD (if I'm passing this on correctly - take it as something I eavesdropped for now). Maybe the police were just intimidated by 'el toro.' I've been hearing that a Murcielago could probably beat a Crown Vic in a straight line, and especially if you throw in some "twisties." But still, it's about Ford's racing history, and that feeling behind the wheel of the Vic when all the heritage and glory of American racing comes rushing through... something you don't get from driving a car built by a tractor company. And yes, as Criminal noted, the Smart car arrived around 10th-12th, beating all the Lambos, F40, et al.
The neighbor kid Brandon says he and a bunch of other ricers joined up the the main group of cars this morning for about 40 miles or so, just south of me here in Michigan. He followed the Lambo Murci (Canadian plate) for a bit, and did also see an F40. Is Roland's the only F40 in the run? He also said lots of Porsches, and a good number of Ferraris. He tried stopped by to take me along, but I was not at home....DARN IT !! He said it was an awesome experience driving at 110-120 with all those exotics. He was wired up pretty good telling me about the experience.
BOTH FROM COLORADO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love those 2 F40's, saw them at PPIR, Rolands makes the sweetest noise. When can we expect pics from today BTW?
They yellow Murcielago was an absolute nut, I couldn't even come close to keeping up to him in the BMW (through light to medium traffic too) without putting myself at risk- not going to say the actual speed but lets just say that I'd have to remove the speed limiter of the car to be competitive....
only risk will be if anyone comes in contact with the string that is connecting your car to the lambo's rear bumper
I seen the yellow murcialgo with ontario plates today he was a cool guy. Seen plenty of the Players Run cars the blue porsche 993 Turbo had a totally shatterd front windshield from a bird.
i saw that lime green smart car on I95 in connecticut at around 6pm yesterday headiing north. He must have known a short cut. Do these guys that drop out get any kind of refunds? Just wondering.
That's crappy to hear - the owner of the 993TT, a friendly guy named Adrian, had put a lot of work into the car for the event. He was saying he'd only bought it a month ago and had already put "a year's worth" of tuning into it. 'Yellow Murci guy' was the man!
