...it is my extreme pleasure to present to you a 1953 Tojeiro MG; only one of three ever made: LOY 501. Today wasn't a 'shirt & tie' day here at The Ferrari Market Letter, no sir. It was a 'take the Tojeiro out of hiding, wash it and take it for a spin' day. That's right. This morning, 'work' consisted of Gerald, my senior co-worker and i removing the cover from this once-driven-by-Stirling Moss racecar and washing it. Once the shiny side was actually shiny, Gerald was only too eager to take 'er out for a spin. We each got a turn riding with Gerald and it was something i'll never forget; aside from being an actual, real racecar, it's also the first right-hand drive car of any kind, that i've EVER been in. So anyway, here are some pictures of LOY 501, post wash; the last picture is of Gerald and i, having just returned from a jaunt through the neighborhood, scaring the sh_t out of the locals.
Carbon, the image of you in LOY 501 in a tank top and clear safety goggles is an image I will unfortunately never forget Congratulations buddy! Awesome ride!!! Your making me jealous!! Ask Gerald if he needs any help. I could even be the official FML photographer at the Concours You write the article, I take the pictures!
NNO very nice can we have our car back, did you drive the morris minor in the picture, been a long time since i drove one, watch 1st gear no syncro, its in good condition looking at the pic theres none left in the uk the rain washed and rotted them away, cheers Dale.
ya'll need to go to the harley dealer and get some decent goggles!!! I use that kind when grinding historic Ferrari corrosion ONLY!
Geez, NNO, the Sundown Metallic pink Z3 in background is almost as rare, but more saleproof You better wear dark eyeshields if you ever have to drive that thing
Carbon, You are even braver than I thought to post THAT picture of yourself! I'm sure Mark and Wax have something in store! ....and nice to see you sporting the black wife beater. <~~~~LMAO! DL
Doesn't NNO ned a beer sipper hat too?? Can only be an english Ale or Moretti to fit with the car though
Jordan, ordinarily, i'd say that i would want as much credit in the market letter - both pictures and articles - as i can get... But with the pictures you've posted lately, that's actually not a bad idea... Jerry, yes, the dials on the car are green... Chris, Peter, thank you... Pat, Alan, LOL... Dale, yes, that's a black cherry 1959 Morris Minor 1000 in the background... Maybe i'll post pictures of that, tomorrow if i have time... Alan, i just got back from Harley; picked up some cool goggles; Gerald's got an old leather skull cap i can use... Now all i need is the 'flying ace' silk scarf and i'll be set...! Sfumato, the pink Z3 in the background belongs to my co-worker... i happen to like it a LOT (of course, i've always liked the color pink); it's a very rare color since they didn't use it on production models, only display models... i think it's very cool... Dave, thanks for giving them the idea and turning this thread into complete mayhem... ...i knew i could count on you. Thanks, Michael... How's Savannah...? We gotta hang one of these days...
