Where should a Vacuum reading be taken on a 308 QV?

    Where is the best place to take a vacuum reading on a 308 QVs Plenum Chamber? I just wanted to take a general reading to see where my engine was at while checking the brake booster line. I pulled the rear most line and tried there but as soon as I pulled it the idle would jump to arounf 2300 rpm even when the vacuum gauge was connected. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks.
