Kind of hard for me to imagine you couldn't use it here ... as I hear it on regular network (not cable) TV shows all the time.

 

There is alot of history here, between and among Venus and, ahem, a 'few, unnamed individuals.' But, I still don't think that excuses the thread. I mean, Venus could have started one that said, "I'm Pissed Off at Matt and Darth b/c they Don't Have Ferraris and Still Make Fun of Me." In fact, I think that could be the lyric for a new c/w song.

BTW, Menasce, I think you've been hanging out in Paris too long. être fâché. N'est Pas?

'History' is something I understand. But I'm having trouble sussing the situation as a 'whole'.
The 'key fob' thread was proceeding apace--I was kind of enjoying it, really--and then it all fell to **** over a $3.99 purchase, and the starter of the thread got pounced on by a pack of hounds, fought them off as best they could, and then started a new thread (this one) designed to 'hamstring' the pack leaders in the 'key fob' attack. That attempt appears to have backfired and here we are: Many still pissed (Synergy told me I could say that) and a bit confused.
I'm getting the sense--and this is not directed at anyone particular--that this might be a 'no forgiveness' site and if somebody messed with you last year, it's o.k. to gather your buds and pound them this year over nothing.
I'm no Christian--I don't buy that stuff--but some of the people here better take a hard look at themselves. This site is DESIGNED for eccentrics--make some allowances, or you'll be next. (Edit. Not directed at you, Prof.).

A degenerate scumbag is less likely to see a local Ferrari while driving down the street, and most people are less likely to notice the plates and even less likey to write them down.. No need to catalog them for someone to sit here and search everyones pics to find targets. I look it as just a general precaution. Why make it easier for anyone.

In general, most people don't see a "regular" car like a Honda driving down the street and go thru the trouble of trying to track down the owner, their full name, dob, ssn, address, etc. However, if it's a member on here that someone has a problem with, then people will go out of their way to do that, because they know it belongs to the person they have a grude against.

 

I usually just tape a piece of plain white paper over the plate.

 

V-one, a primer.

Likes sportscars, usually modified, but didn't have a strong cash flow.

Dad dies, leaves a small pile of cash.
