That will now be on my "to do" list FF. At full throttle in every gear would be sensational in any Ferrari too. Good to know its been kept well. Looks gorgeous! Better than entrusting the keys to it, to your mate to start her every now and then to charge the battery!
I should add... "through a tunnel".... Actually... 348 is right up there too... they have a great induction noise (better than 355), also a great potential for exhaust noise, but lack a strong engine noise. Yeah. it's nice. Not perfect, but nice. Needs a carpet set as you can see the blue faded mats in one shot. Very usable car.
Through a tunnel?? My Magna sounds good through a tunnel.. Nah, I know what you mean FF. I put the exhaust back onto the 348 while you were away. Im ready to kill myself. Sounds gay again!
Close Phil...... No, I did my mate from work a favour a few weeks back. His 6yr old son, has a serious medical condition, and he asked if I could take him for a drive in the 348. The little guy loves the Ferrari and it was his bday also, so I happily agreed to do so. I thought it would be a good idea to put the exhaust back on, so not to blow the little fellas' ears out while we had some fun. I picked him up and we cut a few laps and he said it was the fastest car in the world. Kids!
A friend of mine has put a Tubi on his 512BB.The car is still in the shop at the moment. It underwent a refresh to the box and diff and whole new stainless headers straight through to the Tubi. And a bunch of while your at its along the way.I'm looking forward to hear what it sounds like.
Oh and Phil your Boxer looks great. Are you still thinking of selling it?The Boxer was my favourite Ferrari when I was growing up.I've always wanted on as well as a Dino but who hasn't!Phil will you be able to tell us what the importing/shipping costs ended up costing you or would you prefer to keep that private?
I don't intend to keep it forever, but I'm in no rush to sell it either. I've got to give it a belts and solid valve conversion service when it gets here, and I fully intend to do plenty of track days and some country runs in it. The import costs is a curly one. As I'm an emmigrating pom with permanent residence and ownership since 1998, my costs are different to Aussie citizens importing cars they just bought... Shipping in 20ft container, including covered transport collection in kent and taking it to felixtowe docks is under 2000GBP. Includes loading with a few bits of shrapnel I'm bringing too. Shipping takes 43 days apparently.
oh, that old trick where the shrapnel is worth more than the car, and good luck on the 43 day ship, closer to 4 months for me and then there is the joy of getting the car OFF the ship $1500 and quarantine because of mad cows $750 , and these were back in 91 so god knows what they are now
These are only pics of a model, but imagine the possibilities with a set of modern 19" rims. Fully sick mate!!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
