Price is fair, You are getting the better deal but it isn't that bad for him since you are a friend and could always sell it back to him. Cool guitar.
That's what I thought. And if I was to sell it back to him, I'd let him have it for the same price I am paying.
$500 for an SG Std 1996 is a great price if its in good shape w/ the case. I just picked up another 1998 Ace Frehley Les Paul, 2000 Gothic Explorer, 1999 Gothic Flying V, Yamaha Custom Shop in Fly Yellow (on Ebay), Parker Blue Pearl Fly and... I just made a deal on 3 (yes THREE) BC RICH Custom shop guitars that were made for, played and owned by Jack Frost (Metal guitar god). These are some wicked, wild and UNIQUE axes. Im going to meet with him to discuss a possible charity auction of one and hes going to sign all 3 for me. Ill get pix when I get them.
Man, that is awesome! I love the Ace LPs. I've never seen a Gibson version in person, only the Epiphones. Can't wait to see the pics!

went to a music store today who had a Kramer Gorky Park guitar still new from whenever they were made. That is going to be one tough sale!
Ok, its still not a vintage axe... those are still buried in the closet... but htis one is cool. Rosewood body Telecaster. it sort of a hollow body. The body is made up of a front and back pieces that are scooped out. A solid rosewood body would weigh a ton. As it is, its pretty derned heavy. Ebony fingerboard, gold hardware. Just wanted to post pics of my axes. Got the new KH3 (on the left) a few weeks ago. I love it. I dont know why I waited so long to get one. Looks awesome. It is alot heavier than my KH2 and the neck is not as shallow. Thicker neck and more weight. Still sounds fantastic with 2xEMG 81's. When I straddled my KH2 afterwards, it felt more like home. I have owned the KH2 for 5 years now, so I am a little more used to it I think. Either way, I love them both. Will try and get the KH4 next and then try and get an ESP JH model down the track. I love it. It has a nice crunch to it when I play it through my Slash JCM900 stack and my Boss Metal Zone 2 pedal. A killer crunch to die for I reckon. First time I played with the KH3 was yesterday when some friends came over for a jam. We chugged out Sad But True LOUD and I thought my teeth were going to fall out. Sounded awesome. Sounds very similar to the KH2 of course. KH3 neck 81 sounds nice and tight. Better than the KH2 neck 81 I reckon. Both awesome guitars. Like the feel of the KH2 better at the moment. Dont know how little Kirky can run around with the KH3 though, it is a heavy axe compared to the KH2. My arms are still sore from yesterday and I am twice the size of Kirk.
I think many would consider them the kings of metal. But look what happens to someone who tours with them. This is the result of only 1 year with them. He used to be a scholar! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Robert - I have saved the 1975 picture...one of the coolest things I have seen! The dbl kick, the hair, the SG....I imagine you guys doing Highway Star or something (did you have a B-3 player?) ...is there a better song to rock out on after a beer or 12?
You toured with them? Which tour? What do you do mate? Roadie or sound tech or something? They are the KINGS OF METAL alright! METALLICA RULES!!!!!!!
