Mine have black and silver, but should I paint with glossy black?

When my engine was out, I sat in the engine bay and painted it by hand, with a brush, using Satin black paint.

I am using a "trim black" by SEM. You can get it from a paint jobber in a spray can or for a spray gun. I think it's a very close match to the factory black which is a semi black [satin]. Not flat or glossy. Like my airbox:

It must have been windy at the factory that day?

I'm planning on doing my airbox this weekend using "textured satin black powdercoat" and I will post my results on how it looks. Judging from the test scrap metal I powdercoated with this media, it should look amazing. It is just a real pain in the a** to get the many layers of old finish off the airbox.

That's great...powdercoat is an option. Question on the texture, how much "grain" will it have and how will you get the stencil to go on properly? The main reason I use what I do is for that purpose.
