how much power/torque/weight/rpm/any performance specs. i've heard it's the fastest lapping ferrari besides the f1 cars..is this true?
Too expensive for my personally but I can see the appeal. A very exclusive and pretty car. Good luck to anyone who's thinking about buying.
Dallara was very invovlved with this project as they were with the 333SP also. The 333SP was mostly Dallara, with the exception of the engine. The F50GT had much more Ferrari input and involvement and was very much based on the F50 street car. To my knowlege Michelotto had no involvment in the F50GT project. 001,002,003 were all built at the factory. I was at the factory and saw all three of them personally. 001 was in the final stage of assembly and 002 and 003 were in the process at the time I viewed them. Originally 001 was slated for delivery in Brunei and 002 was to go to the USA and 003 to Japan. The Sultan canceled delivery of 001 and the cars ended up delivering as follows: 001 USA, 002 Japan, 003 USA. To answer your quesions as best I can, 1. As far as 001 is concerned, agreement with Ferrari at time of purchase 2. ??? It stands on it's own 3. Lawsuit? I doubt Ferrari would issue a franchise to someone who had sued them.... 4. Northern Ca. and Japan 5. If my recolection is accurate, several years ago 4 million was offered for 001 and turned down. 001 will remain with it's owner for the remainder of his life and then donated to a museum thereafter along with it's street version counterpart. The parts cars, 002 and 003 have traded hands for less in the past.
Ferrari specs are: 750 HP @ 10,500 RPM 384 lb ft torque 2000 lb (wet) limited @ 10,500 RPM Top speed 235 MPH 0 to 60 2.9 sec. It did lap faster at Fiorano than the 333SP.....
Can you explain what you mean by parts cars? I had heard rumors that the first F50GT (001) was the only "real" (true) one. Is that true?
Thanks Adam for the clarification! I knew the version that involved "Micholelotti" was nowhere close to being remotely accurate (as they say). Michellotti maybe, Dallara certainly...
All three of the cars have VIN's 001 was the sole test mule for the project, 002 and 003 were assembled out of spares.
I'm surprised at the 0-60 and the top speed. I would think it would be faster. Is it traction limited/drag limited? I remember seeing someone loose one once and it seemed to have huge hp. P 4/5 which has less hp and weighs 2750 lbs. goes 0-62 in 3 seconds and has a vmax of 233. It it because of the wing creating drag? How much down force does that car make? What's it's Cx? P 4/5's is .3 Thanks
Power to weight, it is no sloch Drag factor was one of the big concerns for the car. The numbers, which were never disclosed were a concern for the car to be competetive with the McLaren and the Porsche in the GT1 class at the time. Consequently, the car was faster on the track than it was on paper.... Ferrari Magic.... We were never able to get the aero data from Ferrari.
It seems as "light auto Japan" is serious this time with selling the car - for the right price of course!!! http://www.wintel.co.jp/wintel/owa/pspe_stock_list5?in_categorize=0&in_shopno=638-1&in_sort=&in_gradeline=1 http://www.wintel.co.jp/wintel/owa/pspe_stock_detail1?in_categorize=0&in_group_id=&in_shopno=638-1&in_carno=108&in_mode=stocklist&in_designno=&in_cssno=&in_shop_disp=0

I don´t know if it is true. The car looks like an evil and mean. I love it.
Here's a shot I took of one in our local area. Sorry about my son being in the photo, getting in the way, but it's the one shot I've got. Image Unavailable, Please Login
