Thanks so much for covering this event and sharing with us!

You are right about the seat insert material being orange. Although referred to as "red" to begin with, they were orange initially and are now a faded hue of same. The megaphone pipes (rare sport exhaust option) on 49 DG are stainless steel versions made in a later period and here too you are right in your observation that the tips are bigger in circumference than the original items as seen on 700 RPM.

I agree. The white is classic, but the powder blue is, well, so Miami Vice!

Stocky, who was there, identified this car (with UK-registration "A 11 GTO") as chassis number 58149 - see post number 3823.

According to noted Ferrari Historian Marcel Massini, 58149 was delivered with Italian export plates "EE.190.AK" to one Mick Jagger. We have images of Mick Jagger collecting this car at Maranello in 1985, posted on this thread in multiple places. The car's registration, according to Massini was initially UK-registered "B 11 GTO", registered in the name of Jagger's manager, A.M. Dunn. In more recent times this registration has been changed to the current one.

Rather than an unhelpful "no it isn't", why not actually tell us why Massini is wrong, and what the basis for your inconclusive comment is?

Otherwise, Massini's researched information remains the accepted ownership status of 58149 when new.

Thank you, I know Marcel Massini and I'm certainly not saying he is wrong and I was also at Boughton on Sunday. You said "ex-Mick Jagger". This car continues to belong to Mick Jagger so the "ex" is incorrect. Why were you saying "ex" when the information you have given above (from Marcel) gives no indication that it had changed hands? Tut tut. Never make assumptions!:D

It has been discussed within this thread by Marcel & others that this car has changed hands and is no longer owned by Jagger. Further evidence of that is the registration change from B 11 GTO to A 11 GTO. What proof do you have that Jagger still owns it? Please enlighten us.

In the UK a change of registration means nothing about who owns a car. What proof do you have that it has changed hands? If you think it has then who do you think now owns it? Assumptions have been made in this thread that because Mick Jagger isn't generally driving it himself that he therefore no longer owns it. I don't see such an assumption from Marcel, who certainly isn't known for making assumptions. How do you think it got invited to turn up on Sunday? Do you think perhaps that the UK Owners' Club might have contacted the cars custodian?

I don't know who currently owns it, other than the suggestion earier in the thread by others that Jagger no longer does.

If Mick Jagger still owns a 288 GTO, that's great!

It would have been helpful for you to simply add "he still owns it" to your initial comment of "no it isn't".

Here it is at Le Mans last summer with someone else driving.

At the GTO Reunion in August, Luca Fioravanti has suggested a presentation of "original drawings, photos & documents" a rare opportunity, very much appreciated.

    Hi Jonathan,

Nice to have met you last weekend, I was with Peter from Holland with the blue 308 GTB.
I was really impressed about the perfect organisation of the event, and the British are all very kind and polite,
    we had a great time!

I made about 300 pictures, if you need any 288 GTO pictures like posted here,
or anything else, please don't hesitate to ask.

    All the best,
    Marcel

Thanks for posting that Stocky. I like the way he lets it idle for a minute before shutting it down.
