Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Depends how much damage has been done to the circuit board from leaking batteries.

There was an extensive thread in the 360 section outlining the procedure.

Do a search for alarm batteries, etc, and you should find it.

Does Ferrari actually make the alarm or is it sourced out to an electronics company??

It's made by Bosch. It's a sealed unit, and there are two types of batteries they had used.

The early ones had a solder on battery as was used in early 80286/80386 computer motherboards. The later ones use two batteries about the diameter of a quarter but nearly 1/2" thick each!

The latter batteries are about $40.00 each, and there is an FChatter in New Jersey who has these batteries. He's the only US source!

Some have used external batteries, but I think it's best to carefully open the unit, clean, replace the batteries, and then reseal the unit.

I am referring to batteries for the alarm module. There are two if the later style.

Yes, it's Bruce who has them. He's very accommodating.

G Carlo, I would be alarmed to find you in error, shocked in fact, but are you sure about the batteries? I have two sirens, one from my 99 355F1, which is Ver:1.0, the other is in the car now, but I remember it as having a later version number. The later version has the two soldered in batteries, while Ver:1.0 has the two replicable batteries.

The later one was represented as being from a 360, I suspect this to be true as the seller had numerous other 360 items for sale.

Carlos.C.V When you replace the siren module rotate it so that the wire connection receptacle is facing downwards. As it came from the factory it faced up, and was thus a perfect collection point for water, which did get in mine and corroded the circuit board.

Alex, Bruce has the remote batteries, I do not believe he has the ferrari part# batteries for the siren alarm---I think that is a sealed unit available from Ferrari only--I could be mistaken.....I have several remote batteries laying around here. They are just Energizer and can be found at most electronics stores..If you can not find them around you, let me know and i can send you one out----Ask Luke(355dreamer) how important it is to have an extra one laying around!!!

I've torn into both a v1.0 and a v1.1 (for a 360, assuming 355 use the same) and have seen both the soldered battery setup and the supposedly replaceable batteries.
Seems really silly to call them “replaceable” when the only way to get to them is to slice open the alarm housing.

The issue really isn't so much whether or not the batteries can be replaced, its more if they have already leaked and turned your electronics into a goo-coated, blackened mess. In both cases for me this was the unfortunate outcome.

Daniel is your friend and he has the best solution!

We are talking about the alarm siren; the thing that makes the noise when someone tampers with your car. This small box is separate from the alarm "brain" and has nothing to do with the car starting. Mine was completely dead and my car still started and operated just fine.

    What are you talking about?

Well if we are talking about the same thing, I can assure you that at least in the case of a 360 the car runs just fine. The alarm system itself is unaffected and I'm sure will still cut power to the ignition should someone tamper with the car, but the alarm system sending the signal to the siren would effectively go nowhere.... since the siren is dead its as though you don't have one physically plugged in.
