... if you are in China.

This was a car show I went to in China today. The salesman said all three new cars at the show are available for immediate delivery! I was shocked since, in the US, there is no such thing!

Of course there's a catch: the F430 is US$400,000. The reason: the price includes 100% tax.

Exporting a Ferrari from there makes no sense economically, but owning one there makes no sense either. The average "expressway" speed is about 55 mph / 90 kph (speed limit is 62 mph / 100 kph), and many drivers willingly go as slow as 35 mph / 60 kph. There is no way to go more than 100 mph even briefly because the highways are too congested and the speed difference with other cars is too great to be safe. City traffic is so incredibly congested that the average trip speed is often just a little faster than walking.

...someone got tangled in it with his pants or long dress for sure...I´ve seen that kind of failure in many parked cars and I coudnt figure why until I got tangeld in one...parked to close to the wall and I had to "clean" the front bumper in front...

I bet you that´s what happened...

Can they export the girl? ;)

I wonder why the Ferrari market there is so hot, though. We keep hearing about how demand in China is stretching the factory's ability to meet demand.

That almost looks borderline Rosso Dino, but it's a tough call. Rosso Scuderia can look almost orange under certain artificial lighting, but more like red in direct sunlight...

it's good to be like that... china importing is runing many business in several countries... 'cause it doesn't cost a thing! Exporting a ferrari there (danger to be reproduced....) must cost!!! A LOT!

... which is probably a huge % increase over a couple of years ago.

So if you can just cruise in and buy are these cars not really selling their? A plan to ship 150 doesn't say too much.(150 cars for 4B people is nothing) How many will they really sell if those ones are sitting there?

They must sell since 100 were shipped there last year, and this year a 50% increase is expected. Of course the demand is not as great as in the West, but it is growing. There are plenty of new Mercedes and BMWs on the street. Keep in mind that they cost twice as much as they do in the US.

Exporting millions of shirts and electronic products is enough to pay for more than a few Ferraris.

Yes, but I'm sure it's just like the US, where they are "in stock and waiting for customers...." because the dealers are charging an arm and a leg premium.

Case in point...I called a Porsche dealer the other day who had a new GT3 RS that "needed to move"....at MSRP + $60k. Of course it did.

That may be true for other marques, but nowadays all Ferraris are sold before they are made so there is nothing just waiting in a showroom, right?

And next thing you know, they'll be shipping 1500 to us, once they've figured out how to copy it.

Even Americans can't make a sports car that truly rivals Ferraris.
