After you remove the turn signal lenses there are two bolts inside the housing that you need to remove, one on each side.
It is one complete assembly for both turn signal and fog light, they are not separated.

Beware that one of the bolts is used for adjusting the lower beam. If my memory serves me correctly, it's the inner bolt, but please check first.

When you have removed both bolts, the light is held in place by a "pressure" fixing (for lack of a better expression). You have to pull the assembly out.
Take a look at the picture. Unfortunately I didn't take pictures of the fog light without the turn lignal lenses so that you could see which bolts to remove ... if you do, please post it here for future reference !

Why do you have to remove the lights to put film on them?

I put quite thick plastic film ( 40 mils? over 1/16" thick anyway) on my fog lights without removing them from the car, and it is essentially invisible when carefully trimmed around the edge of the lens.

    That is correct.
Look at the picture where the arrow points: that part is made of plastic. The part on the light assembly has a metal sphere that goes inside the plastic part.
I'll go to the garage and take a picture of the back of my (broken) spare one .... here it is! I hope that makes it clearer.

You can see at the top of the fog light the place where the long screw goes through, and on the first picture the places where both screw and the round metal part goes to.
Sorry if the description is a bit poor, it's just my english ... but I hope the pictures will help !

Fyi, this should be a mandatory job for all 328 owners! My mechanic tells me he tried to source a replacement fog light unit last year but the factory didn't have any and hadn't made any for a while. The only one he could track down was being offered at a crazy price - i.e. thousands of $.

Here's a pic showing the only 2 screws you have to undo to pull the assembly out (after removing the indicator lense). Then it's just a matter of manouvering the whole thing out & disconnecting the 2 ribbon wire connectors. As RGigante has shown with an arrow, that metal prong on the lower inside corner seats into a plug and may take a little bit of pressure to pull it out.

Same here, worked fine. Cut the film a little over sized and then trimed with a razor blade.

40 mil clear film from www.lamin-x.com

A single 6" x 12" sheet is big enough to do both fog light lenses.

True. I felt it may have been a little easier to work on them while out but it probably made little difference in the end.
