I have Eibach springs over Koni adjustable shocks, on my car. The problem is the small (1") space between the tire and the fender, in the front of the car. The rear seems to have a more normal space (about 2-3"s). The front of the car is lower. The springs and shocks where new in 02, installed by the PO. They still look new.

Looking at the springs in the front, they are numbered with two groups of numbers: 2749 and 0700 250 0400

The springs appear just too short. I could turn in the base, at the bottom of the shock, but I feel that I would be putting a lot of tension on the springs, in order to raise the car another 2"s.

Can someone tell me if these are the right springs?

The rear springs are marked 42700 and 0800 250 0300

    Thanks.

I designed those spring many years ago when I worked for Eibach.

First number is a batch code which can be ignored.

    0700 250 0400 = LENGTH ID RATE

    ie 7" long, 2.5" ID and 400 Lbs/in

Screwing the platform up will raise the ride height but you need to make sure the spring won't be compressed solid under full bump conditions. It it does go solid it will do servere damage to the chassis !!

Check the amount of damper travel by measuring the length of chrome rod sticking out of the damper tube including the bit under the ruber bumpstop. Measure the gaps between all the coils of the spring and added together need to be 125% more than the damper travel.

You may need to fit a 0800 250 0400 to get the ride height you require.

Talk about getting an answer from someone who knows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......Thanks.

Are the measurements taken with the car on the ground, or up on a hoist, with the wheels off?

Makes no difference if you do the measurements with or without the weight on the spring because the spring rate is linear.

You'll find it so much easier to do jacked up with the wheel off.
