While in 90 degree Miami heat, AC just complete cut out. No blower or anything no matter how I have the controls set. I checked the # 25 fuse, iut it is good. Any other simple places to check, connectors, etc? Hoping (praying) for a relatively easy and inexpensive fix to what has been a trouble free car.

The hidden fuse to the A/C that is in the front hatch compartment under the felt liner is a common culprit.

Obstructions in the A/C inlet (front bumper hole) is another, but that won't impact the blower. A dead A/C power supply would do it, though.

Also, disconnected cables to your A/C panel can do it inside your cockpit.

    Where is this hidden fuse?

In the trunk area. There are 3 fuses mate. The one circled is the "hidden" a/c fuse you would wanna check. ;);)

Here is a pic of which one it is. :):)

    David,
My car is a European model and maybe the US cars are different - BUT, just in case:-
The A/C fuse for my 355 is listed as #24 in my handbook; you have checked #25 (which. for me, is for the direction indicators and reversing lights). Here's hoping that it's the same for you.

I assume that the "hidden fuse" is seen when the large piece of trim which lines the inside of the trunk covers is removed (as must be done to access the A/C high and low pressure lines when filling with refrigerant).

Thanks for the suggestions. Both fuses good. AC Switch does nothing, no click from the compressor, etc. Where is the control unit?

Sounds like you have to start getting dirty! :D:D

Find the electrical plug for the blower motor in the trunk area mate and check to see if its getting power. If it is, then you know the blower motor is fried. :):)

If both fuses are good, then thats where I would start looking. :):)

Make sure the freon is fully charged. Mine showed all these symptoms and a simple check of the pressure showed it was too low. I topped it off and everything came back to life.

The compressor will not cut in if the a/c gas is low. :):)

It wont stop the a/c blower fan from working though. :):)

I think thats the issue here, if I am not mistaken? :D:D

You guys are on the same problem I am having. I have not checked the freon levels so I need some help. Where do you check the freon on a 95 355 and can I use the same gauges I used for gm cars? Im sure there is a post on this if someone could just give me a step by step that would be awesome. Also what coolant is the best to refill if I need to?

My mechanic says the blower is drawing too much current, although from what I am reading, the circuit can be the culprit, by not providing enough current making things run high amps, hot, etc. Has anyone simply used a relay, and used the blower power wire as a relay trigger, and use direct battery current for the blower? Fuses on both lines ofcourse.

If the blower fan is drawing too much current then I think its on its way out mate. ;);)

Electrical equipment builds up resistance when its nearing the end of its life. :):)

I have never wired the blower motor up the way you have described in a Ferrari, but I have done it before in other cars to get them out of trouble or to get them a Road Worthy so they can register the car. :):)

I would look into replacing the blower motor mate. I wouldnt **** around with wiring in a relay etc..etc.. :):)

I also know the blower motor is a not cheap compared to a small relay fix. ;);)

    Hey Pap,

The fuse holder on the left is empty. On a different thread, someone here mentioned it is for a tester (I assume to power it). Any idea what kind of tester that is or is it for something else? Not sure why it would have a relay associated with it either....

    Thanks, Erich

I had the same problem, driving, a/c on, everything fine then bang nothing, my hidden fuse was melted from voltage, so I changed the holder to a 30 amp fuse but every time I touched the a/c button it blew. I too thought it might be the blower pulling to much current but it ended up being the a/c clutch decided to short out inside, new compressor, rewired the diode wire the right way, recharged freon, put everything back together at a shop here in Phoenix $550.

How do you test the ABS with only two electrical contacts? I would think you would have some "proper" multi-pin connector to communicate with the ABS ECU. I guess you could do that with just two contacts but.... And what about the relay?

Im sure the fuse powers the relay up to start cycling the ABS pump. :):)

Something like the anyways. Im sure ND has it on his primer page if you care to have a look. :):)
