During the Ferrari Racing Days at the Nürburgring, Germany, yesterday Saturday afternoon, 2nd September 2006, at around 4 pm, Phil Bachmann in heavy rain did an off-road excursion in his yellow FXX #146361. Body damage to the right front, the left side and left rear. Car was towed back to the pits. Fortunately Phil Bachman wasn't hurt.

well, the damage looks like it's mostly cosmetic, the panels staid together pretty well. I wonder what the cost to fix the car up would be

Ouch, well at least if you have to crash your Ferrari, its a good idea to do so in front of Ferrari themselves and have the heads of the repair department as your buddies!
Im sure they'll have that fixed up in a jiffy for him.

Phil Bachman told me that he believes that the steering might have been damaged, it also appears that the left rear suspension may have been damaged as was found out during the technical inspection by FXX engineer Petrotta.

Thankfully no one was hurt. Do you have a picture of Schumi doing donuts in his FXX? Also that repair bill is going to be pretty big :(

Very Glad Mr. Bachmann is OK. A nicer man I have never met!

Also glad to see his car being used as intended. You can't find the limit without exceeeding it.

How many events are there left for the FXX's? Sad to see the first one damaged, even moreso since it is such a rare color. Hope no more will be hurt. Wonder how long it will take for her to get patched up.

What was the # of FXX's produced again? What a treat to see them at Mt. Tremblant, Quebec, Canada in June.

Where are they worldwide ? Is there a 'registry' ?

Chris the plan was 20 but as with all good things more is better so total 29. There were examples sold in most important Ferrari markets. The 'registry' can be found by using the 'search' feature in this section. Even Vasco found it today...

Fantastic photos. When you talked to Bachmann, did he say anything about the rear wing's mechanical adjustor? It would seem the shunt threw that out as well. It looks like heavy trauma to the cars rear panel.

Just wondering, did the FXX's set a ring time? If so what was it?
