All Dinos have a variety of labels in the engine compartment. Mine are apparently WRONG. I'd like to rememdy that, but I can't find a clear picture of what goes in the engine compartment on the air filter cover. I have the rest figured out. I've indicated the label inquestion, can anyone help me out? I also have to assume they vary from year to year, and from US to Euro spec, so, lest we forget, I'm seeking info on a 1972 US Spec. VERY BEST of all the Ferrari sticker guys is Parker Hall in Mississippi, he has them all (for all sorts of Ferraris of the 50s, 60s and 70s), selling them thru his company Kilimandjaro Design, home phone 601-638-7856, or email: [email protected] Parker is also a VERY experienced Ferrari specialist, an FCA judge and head of the IAC/PFA (International Advisory Council for the Preservation of the Ferrari Automobile). Marcel Massini
Marcel. Thanks very much. I tried to contact Parker this morning, and the email kicked back as not deliverable. I'll try his PH # later today. Dave
I can't see it clearly, but isn't your sticker the same as this one? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270031106107 Parker does not broadcast his email address nor does he have a website - old style guy. BTW, that sticker is actually one made by Parker but sold by Maurice Khwam who is internet saavy and yes the price is a premium over Parker's. On a side note - Some of us recall the 80's and early 90's where contacting very busy people like Parker Hall, Dennis M, Kyle Flemming, etc required numerous phone calls (does anyone remember a technology called "answering machines"?), but we actually had more success writing letters or even the new FAX machines. BTW - There is a lady in our office that uses the words "writing letters" and "email" interchangably - Chuckle
dave, here are photos of my jan 74 dino (07714) my june 74 dino (08468) has no stickers on the airbox and is the least "fiddled" with dino i have. it has every other sticker imaginable, but no airbox stickers. i have to believe the factory ran out of them and it was near the end of production. i will check my other cars when i get a chance, as they are not currentlyhere at my home. For those with "L" series cars and in need of labels, I produced a few for my car and the ones I didn't use to Parker who now sells them exclusively. 1) label for the "L" series Magneti Marelli coil 2) label for the left fuse box (same size as 275 but different label) 3) label for the right fuse box (also same size as 275 but different label) Parker is a gem. ..Keith
Dave, I've got exactly the same as wspeer on my 08118. Judges at the 2006 FCA Annual Meet said I'm missing one on the airbox but when asked after the event which one, no one could tell me. Bill
It sounds like the mileage-maintenance sticker on the rearward facing edge of the airbox, but I haven't seen your car. Dave M has a 246GT, diiferent than yours, I believe his is an "L" series car.
Keith- My L series has no decals on the airbox, at least since I've had it- unknown whether it ever did. Does yours have or did it ever have any (as I recall you have an L series also)?
What is the correct airbox stickers on a 1973 Euro GT (06618)? I have no stickers on the airbox or cover. I've mostly seen other Euro cars with no stickers.
that`s the correct one for your European E-serie Dino (picture taken from #06680) regards Matthias Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mathias, there should be no "." after "LA" and before "CHIAVE". These lables were reproduced incorrecly. Pietro
Pietro, well spotted, many thanks. Luckily I do have the correct reproduction sticker Need to change it I can`t remember, where I got the wrong one from?! I even didn`t notice it.... Regards Matthias Image Unavailable, Please Login
Parker`s sticker, printed in his catalogue on page 19, has the dot too (LA.CHIAVE) ?! Regards Matthias
Had 72 246 GT in 1973. If anyone is interested have orginal Magneti/Marelli Coil which is new never used, but can't guarentee as to age not use. Used to always carry one as Dinoplex was known to fail. Has proper decal etc. My USA car did not have decal on the air box as was shown by post, but it was similiar and located on the side as shown per posting . Have also schmatics from, 72 showing body dissassembly, all rubber etc used on assembly for the first 2 series cars. Will post pictures of my sand mettalic and Rosso one of these days. Not much decals in early parts books as most did not feel Dino was a Collectable Ferrari. Little did they know! I miss mine, but that is another story Docf
