I was going to wait to post until I had taken possession, but I can't wait any longer.

    2003 575 Manual
    ~11,500 miles

FoW is doing a major and some cleanup. Hope to take delivery in under two weeks. I traded in my 04 Maser CC and will try and will try this as a daily.

    Don't ask about the shifter.

LOVE the interior (minus the shifter)... the deviated stitching is awesome. Should be great as your daily driver... mine (550) isn't my daily, but I could easily see it being... just a great, great car. Congrats!!!

Under the shields are 575M Badges. These are being removed. Also the shift extension is being removed as well.

I am also having the passenger air-bag cutoff switch installed as well as a Flip-Up LCD Screen Radio/Nav/BlueTooth/iPod stereo thingy.

    I can't wait :)

THANK YOU FOR THAT. The 550/575 is without a doubt my FAVORITE modern FCar.

PLEASE post more pictures when she is in your possession.

Great choice! Drove the 550 120 miles yesterday and the whole time I was thinking how good it would be for a daily (assuming it's appropriate).

And hey, I can't hate the shifter because it certainly is functional.

I think the shifter shaft can be little smaller in dia., but sure, it's functional. =)

definitely quicker shifter position for sure. I like that attitude.

The CGT comment is appropo. The high mounted shifter handle really works very well. I'd try it the way it is before you remove it. It looks like one of the things that may improve the stick shift in a Ferrari. The knob itself looks a little big, but the idea is sound.

Great car BTW. I loved my 575 as a DD and the Superamerica now does that duty most days of the week.

Very nice car. Are you going to keep the fire bottle there?

wow. stunning car! when my 500e was down and 355 was waiting for its major i drove the 550 daily for a few months! it was great. I can't help but notice, is there a bag of cheetos behind the passenger seat. Does that lower the value...j/k

Beautiful car congrats - I love the interior, the wheels and the color overall. Did you consider a 550 or were you looking specifically for a 575? I'm asking as you got the 6 speed. I may be getting in the market soon to replace my 911 DD with a 550/575. I am thinking 6 speed.

Very nice. I would be very excited if I were you and I am envious that you can drive that car every day. I have seen countless short-throw kits for various cars, but why would anyone wish to lengthen the throw of the shift? Someone with very short arms? ;)

Thanks all. It looks like I will take possession in about a week. To answer a few questions:

-I will probably keep the fire extinguisher
-I did consider a 550. I was thinking of adding a 550 but decided to trade the Maserati in on a 575 as I feel the 575 would be a bit better daily for me over the 550.
-No FHP but it is lowered and has the big brake kit installed
-This will make Ferrari number 3 for me. I no longer have the other two, an 82 Mondial 8 and an 86 Testarossa.

I am having the shift extender removed and the non-correct 575M badging removed. I am also hoping that the Kenwood KVT-819DVD Flip UP NAV/BT/iPod I got fits. Finally, I have already had www.airbagonoff.com come and install a passenger airbag kill switch (I may have to transport my daughter every once in a while). Below is a picture of me proving to my wife it can be done :)

Yeah, and IF she goes along with it, she might also slap you with a speed limit clause...you cannot go over the speed limit with daughter in car...!

    Ciao,

Good idea. Handy in a pinch (that's what they call in anyway) and it really doesn't get in the way....

Plus, they look cool as hell in there! :)

Nice color combination, the dark seats with light Daytona inserts work very well.
