Now that I got you all in one place, I need some advice. As you all know I have rebuilt my 355 to an enormous extreme. Now I just got rid of the type R and was looking at picking up an H3. Well, when I went to look at my 355 yesterday, there was a 430 sitting there. Charcoal gray with black interior. 1002 Kilometers. The owner of the shop bought it from his friend as a favor and really didn't need it. He offered it to me for 240 million yen. 24,000,000.00 JPY=196,346.91 USD. Well low and behold I accepted and I am now going to be a 430 owner. Here is the question. What shall i expect as running costs for the new addition to the stable? I just spent close to 30K on binging the 355 up to standards with a little extra something something... Any thoughts on yearly maintenance? Any words of advice would be appreciated...

Congratulations on your F430. It is a little hard to answer your question about expected maintenance costs. I don't know what year your car is, that is, a 2005, 2006, or 2007 car? And I don't know how many miles are on it. And I don't know what maintenance costs are like in Japan in general. But I can tell you what my costs have been to date on my F430.

I've owned my 2006 F430 F1 since Oct 2006 (9 months so far) and I've put 1300 miles on it. So far, I've only done a single oil change and had my brake fluid flushed, so my maintenance costs are next to nothing so far. While it was in the dealership's shop, they did a software upgrade campaign to it, but that was free (under the new car warranty). So, I've spent more on washing and detailing the car so far than on maintenance costs. :)

Enjoy your car. Here is a pic of mine:

Can you tell me a little about these computer upgrades? the 355 does not have these to my knowledge. at least mine does not. Is the software bad?

    Thanks,

    Congrats, X.

Now we need more pictures of your new toy and write-ups on driving experience/difference between the two. :)

Nice, the F430 rocks! Just drive it and change the fluids, you have no services for some time....that's the beauty of a new car! ;)

I would call your nearest dealership and provide them your VIN. Get a listing of all the campaigns that apply to your car and get them done before the warranty runs out. There are numerous campaigns for the exhaust brackets, oil filter, etc. that only apply to specific cars. They can look them up for you.

Other than that it should be just the costs for the regular maintenance as per the manual and replacing the consumables. My costs so far haven't been outside of that.

I keep hoping that the Ferrari Owners site will allow you to look up the applicable recalls for a car or atleast notify you when one applies, but to date, it doesn't do that unfortunately. So you have to call the dealer every once in a while to check.

    Cheers! Enjoy the 430!
