Well... it's been a nice friendship and it's going to be very hard to say goodbye to my old friend. I'll soon be taking in a Audi R8 and with two girls in college and one soon on the way, the GT4 is going to have to finally contribute to the education fund!

It's a 1975, serial # 09658, 88K miles, Red/tan, 16" rims and tires, original 14's and XWX's. I purchased the car in '94 from Camissa Motors ( Prior to my purchase of the car, the previous owner had the car repainted and he also replaced the leather and carpets) and I soon did a complete engine and tranny rebuild at 47K. At that time, I had it bored out and went to the 81mm Wiseco high compression pistons, changed out the valves to Ferrea stainless steel competition valves and new valve springs. I also replaced all fuel, and coolant hoses. Around the same time, I rebuilt all the brake calipers and replaced the wheel bearings.

I've thoroughly enjoyed driving this car. I've taken it to Laguna and Infineon raceway for a number of track days. The only thing that ever went wrong to the car while driving it hard, was the last event at Laguna, a timing sprocket inner bearing broke which required the removal of the engine to service. While I had the engine out I decided it didn't seem logical to not replace all the gaskets and rings, valve stem gaskets, carburetor rebuild, and I also replaced a reverse gear in the tranny that looked suspect. The 1.5K mile motor is absolutely perfect right now and will deliver many miles of enjoyment.

For a 32 year old car I'm constantly getting attention from young and old who often comment that the car does not look its age. It is not perfect in some terms. The suspension bushings are original and will need service if the car is to be tracked often and the paint has a few blemishes/ bubbles in the lower extremities.

Based on availability in the current market and the fact that this is a well maintained, and documented car I feel I can say it is in good to very good condition. I'm currently asking $29,500.

    whew! Lots of work.
    She looks great.
    How about some interior pictures?

FYI, I think your car is the very first 1975 car in the US.

I'm firm on the price as of today. This being only the 6th hour of the car being listed. I thought I would give you guys first dibs. I will pursue other avenues of marketing the car after one week. The car is in Novato, Ca. Just 45min north of San Francisco.

Love your photographic skills....the B&W shot is cool.

Good luck with the sale. Your "bumper mod" gave me the courage to do the same on my '79. I think it makes a huge difference in appearance versus the diving board look (and with the set screws, you can always go back to stock if you wanted to -- who knows why, though).

Very nice! Thanks for sharing the pics & bumper treatment. 'sure you want to sell it? As you said, it's for the right cause. I believe you'll find a buyer here.

Hey guys... thanks for all the nice comments. And to answer the question, selling this car is awfully tough. After driving it 44K miles, It's become a part of me. The other day I took my Audi salesman out for a ride in it and did a 180 degree slide into a parking spot (one move which I've mastered over the years), and he almost **** his pants. The only car I've driven lately which brings this kind of smile on my face is the new Audi R8. That old saying... "Out with the old , in with the new". I wish I didn't have to sell it.
