Very cool video. Security should be beefed up after they learned their lesson.

Cool vid. The major Hollywood star they're talking about is Nicholas Cage.

That was a really cool video. I am surprised at how poor the security set-up was originally.

For the test drive, are you only a passenger and not allowed to drive the car? Because that's what was shown.

It depends on the dealership. When I test drove my 360 the dealer gave me the keys and I was off by myself. With the CS, the dealer came with me.

So you drove the vehicle then, from the video it seemed that the person was only a passenger and the dealer test drove for them.

I'm sure that some dealerships work this way. It wasn't the case when I purchased my cars, the dealer had no problem with me driving.

I would imagine that it would completely depend on the person asking for the test drive and the type of car.

yes thought that was funny myself

probably way easier to take a car considering Ive walked in there many times by myself and started poking aorund and no one ever questioned it, but dont think they have much client info there.

Many dealerships require that their salesperson drive the car off the lot and then after a few minutes, they will switch with you so you can test drive the car.

Also, the IT company they used was called LANSolutions, but the "scammer" said he was from Alternative Technology. Wonder if they were just trying to protect the real company...if so, they shouldn't have shown their business card on TV.

It all seemed a bit pointless when they managed to get the salesman to just come to them. How hard would it be to take him inside for some drinks and distract him and pick his pocket and take off. By the time he realized the game was up, you're long gone.

Also, many dealerships take a copy of your license and then let you go drive the car alone. All you need is a fake license. And, every so often, they don't even bother...you are free to drive off and never return, because no record of you taking the car exists. Has happened to me three times now...once with a really nice Subaru WRX Sti
