WOW! ROY? Are you on this? Is this a great find for someone or what? 1987 350 Miles, Pearl White, One Ca owner There can't be too many in this condition... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1987-Lamborghini-Countach-Pearl-White-Brand-New_W0QQitemZ220209848863QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item220209848863 za9ca05a6hla12152 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice. But that paint looks like an off-white pearl to me. I have never seen a Countach with that color. Maybe it's just the photos. Maybe I'm just wrong. Either way, it looks nice and needs a wing.
That's low mileage, even for a 20-year-old Countach. Typically, they are at 13,000 miles. Which is still not too impressive. Cheers, Fred
Poor thing, someone needs to buy it and rack up the miles and smiles. I recall seeing this color before. Brian
The car is owned by a member here and is listed in FerrariAds! http://www.ferrarichat.com/ferrariads/showproduct.php?product=927&cat=7 This is a really nice looking car. Love the Pearl white Image Unavailable, Please Login
Bianco Perlato - They only made 3 Anniversarys in this color. I just bought one. It is awesome outside in the sun.
Question , . . . What would it take to bring this car back to being road worthy ? Possible problems ? and Total, . . in money ? Thanks Tom Geer in Tennessee
The car is owned by me, I purchased 2 1/2 years ago from the original owner who had it in climate controlled storage here in Los Angeles and he bought the car new in 1987 as a investment. The car was serviced on an annual basis by Blackhorse Motors (carl) and by Francos european in Van Nuys who went over the car when I purchased it ,they adressed everything that it needed at the time. The only reason I never put new tires on it were that if i did someone would ask where were the original ones. I have over 12 cars as projects or under restoration and I have several newer cars and I will never drive this one due to miles . So I figure someone else can enjoy it. The car took quite along time to get to this state I first purchased a 25th style ann bumper strip from Lamborghini of BH and it did not fit at all so I had one fabricated at a cost of $4,200 and I was not happy with the converted look , so George evans helped us aquire all of the proper components to convert it to euro specs. I would not recommend doing this unless you have a very qualified body shop. It was not very easy.
I love your car. All the guys that look down their noses at garage queens and question the motives of their owners I think should keep their opinions to themselves. After all, this is your car and between yourself and the guy before you, it is/was your/his decision what you/he wanted to do with your/his car. Not that it really matters, but why does the eBay listing state it is a one owner car?
I have several cars as I'am sure alot of other Fchat members do and when you have a wife 2 small children and other toys and hobbies (traveling , shooting, golfing, motorcycles, b-day parties etc.). you find you maybe a have a couple of hours on a Sunday to appreciate the cars. So they become more yard art more than anything else. I have a P CGT that I bought In Dec 08 with 840 miles and have only driven it 5 miles since I purchased it I have to keep it in storage since it will not go down my driveway. I had an 2003 Merci Pearl Orange I bought from Steve Harris Ferrari had it for 2 1/2 years and put 280miles on it the first day was about 120 of them. But what I'am getting at I know these cars need to be driven , but all of my cars are maintained to the highest standards everything mechanically and cosmetically are always perfect. I just do not have enough time to really appreciate them. That is why I'am letting this one go, I have several other project cars I have considered selling , but I know they will not fare very well until they are done. I put this car up for sale last October and now it is finally complete. 5 months ago when the shop said it would be done any day.
Kind of like the dude I met today. He has a Countach all orginal and I have never seen it until today and he doesn't take it out. Its got like only 10k on it very nice car though but it needs to be drivin more often.
If an owner drives or not it totally up to them and if someone else doesn't agree with their driving habits, then they are more then welcome to go write a check and pick up a machine of their own. That aside, I think few would argue that a low mile car sold to someone who wants a driver is probably going to run into issues.
