I had the not-funny moments last Sunday and today: after 20 km's suddely red lights flickerin (Bank 1-6 and Bank 7-12) and misfiring....

Kept the throttle so that engine would not die and after som minutes it vanished completely.

Strange, 200 km's after PI; untill now never any problem. Awsome driving... once up to 285 km/h o the German Autobahn...

At the moment Bank 1-6 give problems, I could hear sizzeling on the left side of the engine...(just behind me...)

Anyone ever had the same problem ? How can we solve this ?

(Direct tips please to [email protected])

    Gr for Mel in NL.

I have had similar intermittent issues - bear in mind that on a 512TR the bank corresponding to the slow down light is cut out by the ECU (I believe not the case with a TR) when the light flickers. So, when you say it misfires/sizzles what do you observe (pops and bangs or just down on power)? I still haven't traced my problem - and unlike a lot of folks who have posted on this, I also get the lights on both banks, suggesting it is not a cat thermocouple or ECU issue.

No one here who knows anything about it ? Adam, have you heard things like this ?

Must be something electrical I presume...

had similar problems with my 512 TR, I found it helped if i cleaned the electrical connectors for the cat thermocouples and oxy sensors, easily reached. Also the two main ECU connectors, just behind the seats, use a good quality electrical cleaner, not WD40!. It would appear that the quality of the electrical connectors is not that good on these cars..............

did u leave it out in the rain or wash it vigourously? i had tyhe same thing happen on mine a few years ago when water got into those connectors on either side of the engine. all you need to do is unplug them, dry them and clean them and then replace.

alternatively, if you have had any work done recently, the garage may have switched the engine mgmt wiring (inadvertently) between the banks. and this cause the computer to be confused till you reverse it again.
