    Zumbach's Coffee in New Canaan is the gathering point for the first Caffeine and Carburetors of the 2010 driving season this Sunday, April 18.

    Cars begin gathering at 8 and the caffeine and breakfast part helps with socializing and looking over the expected 80-100 cars, trucks and motorcycles that typically turn out for these events. There will be a drive lasting 30-45 minutes through the scenic countryside of Fairfield County and upper Westchester starting at 9:30 or 10 or so.

    Usually there are several Ferraris in attendance, as well as Porsches, Alfas, Aston Martins, Lotuses, Jaguars, a Rolls or two, some hotrods, Corvettes, several vintage motorcycles and usually a few really unusual vehicles.

    So if you want to have some fun with other motorheads, stop by on Sunday at 8, the weather should be good.

    Well I skipped church today as I went to a wedding yesterday & figured I was covered for Sunday! As I was fertilizing my front lawn I heard the distinct sound of some non rice rockets and Harleys. I then proceeded to watch as many of my friends and one of my old cars (the 911 looked good Doug) zipped down my road. I saw two Ferrari 400's, a 328 , an xk 140, a few bathtubs ,viper, a ghibli(great car Bill), a tempest (gto?), several other Porsche's and old (Dodge?) truck and lots of other really cool cars. As I put the fertilizer spreader away in my garage _ i couldn't help but notice a few forlorn Jags & a Dino glowering at me(they were mad)!! It sure looked like fun & I wont miss the next one!!! Congrats!!

    A few of the non-Ferrari entrants. I saw one Lotus Elan by the side of the road on Rt 35 just before the Hayloft Flats getting some assistance. Since there were about 5 of them in the rally, a finishing rate of 80% would be pretty good for a Lotus, I guess!

    I followed a beautiful old Lancia for quite a ways into NY State but then he missed a turn, I flashed my lights and blew my horn but I don't know if he realized his error.

    The Audi R8 had a twin turbo setup with a reported 600+ horsepower.

    What is the white car next to the green Elan in picture 029? Isn't it a Ferrari? Model?

    I am still confused. Is it a 289 Shelby or is it a V-12 Ferrari? Are we talking about the same car?

    Now you've got me confused. That was the only white car next to the green Lotus. It's a Shelby Cobra.

    I got it! In the earlier picture looking across the top of the Lotus I was not sure.

    They're taking July and August off so the next one is September 12.
