Hi All, As today was a rainy day, it was the best opportunity to put together a complete list of 937 Control Module Error Codes of the F430. I hope this list will serve many owers who are always struggling to get the right explainations of the corresponding codes. For copyright reasons, the pdf document is protected. PM me if you need the equivalent Excel Spreadsheet. Cheers, Stef Image Unavailable, Please Login
Stef- Great info. Onto the hard drive she goes. I have a Sistema Diagnosi SD3 document if you do not have it. Appears to be small enough to e-mail if you want a copy. Taz Terry Phillips
Thanks very much Taz, I have this source of info too but I found it difficult to use and to search in it, so I developed a small extraction tool to extract all the usefull data and transform it as a single list. And as a list, it's easier to share too . BTW, I found several mistakes in the Sistema Diagnosi SD3 source which I corrected in this pdf.
Stef Thank you for the posting as well. This list is applicable to the 360s as well, correct (even thought it named 430)?
You're welcome Tung. The 360 and 430 have some error codes in commun but unfortunately, the 360 has also many specific error codes as well as the 430. So I wouldn't recommend this list to be used for the 360.
Holy Crap! I was going to print it out until I saw 63 pages! 63 pages!!!!! It's now on my hard drvie also. Thanks, Dave
Thanks very much for all your nice posts. I really hope that when the day you have a weird code poping up, you'll happy the have this list and know what to do or at least evaluate how serious the problem is before driving it to the dealer who has many $$ in his eyes JC, I use my own software which goes a bit further than just reading OBD codes There are several software/interface solutions available as well as handheld interfaces. A good know software/interface solution is ScanTool.net. I'm not familiar with Handheld OBD scanners which work well with the F430. Maybe some other members can shime in? Just make sure that the OBD scanner is able to read both Motronic Ecu's. I've heard that ofter they read only the master Motronic Ecu, ignoring all errors from the slave one. Stef
Just a little reminder that this complete error codes list still exist here As the ME7.3 used on the F360 is very close to the ME7.1.1 of the F430, many error codes are identical. So this document can also be very useful for the F360.
Stef- I know you know, but many may not, the 7.3 is in the F430 and the 7.1.1 is in the 360 and 575M. Taz Terry Phillips
I'm afraid it's not Taz, the F430 definitely has 2x ME7.1.1. I even checked this out directly with Bosch some time ago as there were some doubts about it. The Bosch part number printed on the ECU's corresponds to a 7.1.1 for sure The 7.1.1 is more advanced than the 7.3 (as strange as this may appear).
Your comprehensive list omits codes PO420: Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1) PO430: Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2) These are the codes generated when changing to aftermarket headers. It's basically a comparison of data from pre-cat and downstream cat. With no pre-cat, the ECU assumes the lack of a signal means pre-cat degradation. Ray
You can add another Selespeed error to your list. P1754: SD3 definition will show: Internal ECU error on the secondary micro safety switch. This is a watchdog failure in the main Eprom that occurs during startup. Depending on which module and the type of failure you may only have the error that may or may not be cleared. A hard fault that cannot be cleared, warning lamp on but normal operation or error with warning lamp and malfunctions. The only repair is to identify and replace the module generating the error or a new TCU.
