Which aftermarket exhaust did you get Matty?

Hey Todd will the car be getting a coat of Optimum Opti-Coat2 when its done? How do you feel about that product, good/bad?

 

Mattyrae, is the car still at Studio 47 and if so, how much longer? I'd like to stop by and see it again when Todd is done with the detail and Craig has the exhaust on. It's going to look and sound better than it did when brand new for sure, they do good work there.

Car will have RSC tuning exhaust, advice courtesy of F430GT/Rad, and Capristo headers with blankets and stock cats.

Search YouTube.com for RSC 16M and you will be able to hear it, but without the Capristo headers.

 

Yeah, don't you love how many with black cars, 3k miles still have never heard of Grit Guards. I am researching electric leaf blowers, so a towel will never, ever touch the outside of the car.

Like I told Todd, even though I am not that old, one of his paint corrections has been on my "Bucket List" I will actually get to cross off two things off my list this year.

Mike, Todd said they are planning on having the car done by this Friday, that is the plan.

Can't wait to hear how that'd sound like. To be honest, the youtube video of RSC 16M sounds really crappy. With headers, it might sound better. And if all else fails, test pipes.

Does the Scuderia have CEL issues with headers like 360's do? As I've mentioned, the o2 extenders for like $100 fix the CEL with 360 test pipes, but I've not yet read about a reliable solution (sans a pricey ecu remap) to the CEL from headers on a 360. I'd like to put headers on my 360 to eliminate the precats as well and really let her scream. I know you were looking at test pipes at least for your 360 too.

I trust Rad knows what he is talking about with regards to sweet high pitch sound. Never been a fan of the stock Scud sound.

If I don't like it, on to Powercraft and test pipes.

 

My Fiance' made me a deal, new Capristo Headers, or 16m forged wheels. I chose headers, will do the wheels next year when I replace the garbage stock Pirelli's with Re-11's.

 

Next year? Like 2013? That's what we always tell our other half....then next year becomes next month, or week....

 

Ok, in all reality probably July or August this year.

Videos cannot capture the nice tone of the RSC muffler. I have the first muffler made for a Scuderia, the high pitch is to die for.

The Capristo headers don't throw a CEL, neither does the RSC Tuning muffler. The Capristo test pipes throw a CEL guaranteed, and I tried 3 different sets of O2 spacer, and nothing worked. Ultimately, I got the 2 ECU tuned with the EvoMSit software, and got rid off of the CEL.

I'm currently on Capristo Test Pipes, they increase the volume of the exhaust drastically, and they sound crappy, but power to the wheels (I have a collection of dyno runs from my car) has increased: dyno and 1/8 mile tested.

 

I thought you didn't get a tune? Did you just mail them your ECU's and tell them what exhaust stuff you were running? Will their tune work with sport cats, and test pipes, or is the tune setup to run with only one option?

 

Many congrats Matty. Stunning car and great sounding with that exhaust, look forward to full pictures when you finally take delivery - the wait must be killing. LOL.

Will be interesting to hear it with Capristo headers as well. I had quick look at RSC web site, couldn't see any reference to the exhaust mounting, does it have a system similar to the Capristo to make sure there is no thermal stress in the exhaust system?

 

Matty, I was referring to the crappy sounding exhaust in the vid. I'm sure the real thing sounds eons better else they won't be selling any of those. Vids often the worst platform to judge exhaust note.
